I've sort of abandoned this account over these past few months, I was all caught up with uni work and then other things in my life.

This month was one of the best months of my life (bit much i know), i saw bts at Wembley on the 1st and 2nd! They were amazing to saw the least; the atmosphere and whole experience was just so overwhelming but i never wanted it to end.

Now, I'm just trying to lose some weight and get a job, it's hard especially since I'm pretty unmotivated...

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a good start to 2019! I had a pretty rough end to my 2018 so this year I want to be more positive. I'm cutting people out of my life that were damaging my mental health without me even realising it, I'm taking baby steps to making myself a more positive and happier person. Now that university has started again I'm going to reach out more and meet new people as well as focus hard on my studies.

My first semester at university is coming to an end, its insane how quick its all went in! But since it's now the end it means i have a chemistry exam to study for, let's hope i do well!

Would totally recommend listening to kpop piano music as you study - makes it more durable!

This week has been oddly stressful - I saw oddly because there wasn’t much to be stressed over yet I was completely overwhelmed. I still managed to survive another week though! 

We got to see a “crime scene” our university provided for us, we had to look at all of the key/main objects within the crime scene and decide which forensic technique we would use in order to gain evidence from it - For example, fingerprint analysing on the knife, bottle etc. 

Every item in this scene could have vital evidence on it, after all as Locard’s exchange principle states - “every contact leaves a trace”.

It’s now nearing the end of my first semester at university and it's honestly going in so quickly! At the beginning all of this scared me, especially biology seeing as I had very little understanding of the subject, but now I've grown more comfortable with the subject, I find it fascinating to learn about the human body. 

During this lab, we were looking at the different stages of mitosis or “cell-division” in an onion root tip, which we had to record, measure and draw the different stages and produce a lab report from it. Going into this lab if you asked me what mitosis was I would have absolutely no clue, I'm just glad I’m somewhat of a fast learner!

I’ve managed to somewhat sort myself into a routine now with university work. Usually, I procrastinate everything and then stress out to the point of ripping my hair out the night before all of my work is due. I enjoy going out to the library by myself and just being able to take my time with things, it’s less restricting and more relaxing than high school I feel. 

I recently turned 18 on the 26th which is exciting, now I guess I'm officially an adult? Weird, I don’t like it but love it at the same time!

This week has been so cold which means I get to wear my scarves and jumpers which I love! I have 2 labs coming up this week, one biology and the other science and crime, this week is going to be long.

27 Sept ‘18 // Working in my college library this morn on some reading for my thesis. Cambridge is still yawning from the summer, weirdly quiet and gradually shading into myriad oranges. Michaelmas term officially resumes in a week, and the undergraduates start arriving in full force this weekend.

The past week has really motivated me and allowed me to actually enjoy being in education for once. Throughout high school I hated studying and always hated getting up and having to go into school but now I'm actually enjoying it! I've become more independent and confident than I was this time last year, it's little things like travelling myself and studying myself that has made me happier, baby steps!

I'm very excited for the upcoming weeks as it's my favourite time of year and also my 18th birthday, I'm so excited to celebrate with friends and be a legal adult, oh god the horror of being an adult.

I feel like I'm finally starting to settle into university this week, I've been more independent and been able to manage my time more to become more productive! Going on little walks through the city myself as well as sitting in the library is oddly therapeutic.

I've been spending my time planning and working on my cells and molecules essay which I have chosen to write about muscle cells. As I have no background in biology what so ever I found this really daunting but I'm sure I'll be fine, it's really interesting!

This week has been very challenging for me as I’ve caught a cold and can’t seem to focus on anything but I’m not letting it stop me! I have a lot of things to do for this Friday which is scary but I’m sure I’ll get through it. I think what scares me about it is the fact I have little to no knowledge of biology so all of this is new to me but with enough effort, I’m sure I’ll be okay. 

I had my first biology lab this week which was actually pretty fun! I now have a science and crime one on Friday, wish me luck!

study like a gryffindor: break out the good snacks and pump the music, use breaks as a time to work out, go to the professor’s office hours when you have questions, be confident in your ability to succeed

study like a hufflepuff: organize study groups, do your readings in your comfiest sweaters, write your own notes and study guides from the textbook, be unafraid of the hard work that studying takes

study like a ravenclaw: think critically when re-reading notes, quiz yourself while brushing your teeth, tackle the hardest practice problems, know that you have the skills to get it done

study like a slytherin: use every resource available to study, use your notes to make your own lecture, challenge yourself by setting goals even if you’re not sure you can achieve them, be proud when you do well
