Gotham fanfiction & @gothambingo :

This fanfiction was inspired by my friend @jeromeclarke107 . She said she liked the way I was writing Jim and Harvey's dynamic so much that she ended up shipping them. x) It is important to note that the fanfiction she was referring to is one in which they discuss Jim's relationship with Oswald. Gordlock was not mentioned AT ALL in this, but... 🙄

Long story short, I ended up writing a short Gordlock smut One Shot for her. 🫣 Yes, I became that person who writes spicy scenarios between imaginary characters for her friend. 😭

I actually started this in March, edited it a bit, abandoned it, then picked it up again recently.

Thank you again to my friend @jeromeclarke107 who was originally editing it with me. And thanks for being the reason this fanfiction exists. 💞

The older detective nodded towards the sheets of paper scattered across his desk and asked, “Would it help me out of this?”

His partner hummed for a second—pretending to consider the possibility—and ultimately shook his head.

“Worth a shot,” Harvey sighed, defeated. “You know I love spending time with you, but this may be my breaking point,” he lamented, averting his eyes.

“It’s paperwork,” Jim deadpanned.

He wrote the address down and left the precinct on his own—his partner had taken the day off, and Jim did not want to bother him if this investigation did not require his presence.

As the detective climbed in his patrol car, a yawn escaped him. He shook the sleepiness away, started the engine, and headed to the crime scene.

is a Gobblepot aspect I liked particularly in season 2 and in my opinion it's that same gaydar Oswald-ar that makes Jim not as suspicious about the Van Dahl family later on.

Ed does, however, take those “rules” very seriously, which does at times lead him into predicaments. This is one of those times.

@redrose-alice I finished another fic!! :D

This whole fic came about because it really frustrated me how in 1x16 (I think) when Jim voices his discomfort with Lee being affectionate with him at work and Lee ignores it even though he asks her repeatedly. It just gets treated as this silly, stupid thing by the narrative, like it's something he just needs to get over. so yeah, fixed it and made it gay xD

I imagine Jim's reasons to be something like a need for privacy about his personal life and a shyness around physical affection that partially comes from the internalised need to keep up the strong man facade. doesn't mean that those aren't things for him to work on over time but he at least deserves to have his feelings validated. (to be clear this isn't a dig at Lee, I think this is a narrative/writing problem).

and what I’m very heavily leaning into with this fic is the autism thing where it can be difficult to understand rules/social conventions and when they’re allowed to be broken and in what ways and by whom. And because I wanted to be extra self-indulgent, I specifically wanted Ed to be able to ask when it becomes unclear to him. I wanted them to have a conversation about it where Ed doesn't get ridiculed or brushed off and can actually ask his questions to try to understand.
