Terry smiled back, “Not at all.” he said. “I was thinking somewhere quick, so we could spend more time by the bakery. You seemed pretty excited by the Halloween stuff.” he said. “We could eat, get our cake and take a walk.” he suggested.

“Alright then, lead on.” He was grinning ear-to-ear. He couldn’t wait to see everything Terry had been talking about, and to get to know him better.

Terry lead them to a burger joint close to the area the bakery was at. He wanted to make the trek as easy and enjoyable as possible.   He stopped in front of the building and shrugged, "It don't look like much, but the food is good." he said and walked inside.

“You’re not picky, good.” he said and chuckled. “We could always stop by the bakery after we eat, they one I go to sells the best pumpkin cake during the fall.” he said, “Plus, that side of town has all the Halloween decorations up already. I love walking through it.”

Stewart’s eyes light right up. “Today is slowly turning out really awesome, that sounds perfect!”

Terry grinned and they walked to first period together. The rest of the day went super slow until the bell for lunch rang. Terry waited out in the front of the school for Stewart, smiling a little to himself.  He was actually a little excited for this. 

Stewart joined him as quicky as possible, eager to see where the day would lead. “Hey, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.” He smiled as he trotted up to Terry. “Where to?”

“Anywhere is fine by me, food is food after all.” He laughed. “Know anywhere that’s got any good pumpkin treats?” He loved pumpkin anything.

“Well that’s good, right?” he asked.  Terry scanned through the paper and smiled, “We’ve got first period together and lunch.”  He handed him back the paper and grinned, “We should go out.” he said. Terry paused, realizing how that sounded and threw up his hands in defense, ‘W-What I meant to say is we should grab lunch or something together.” Nope, that sounded gay too. Terry rubbed his temples, his words just weren’t coming out right. 

Stewart chuckled. “Sounds like a plan, know anywhere good?” He smiled warmly, a gorgeous smile by any standard. He was happy to already have a friend, wondering why something about him seemed almost familiar.

Terry grinned, “You too.” he said. He looked at Stewart curiously, the manner he dressed was..different. The victorian style was interesting, beautiful even. It made Terry feel underdressed. He was just wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. “So, where are you coming from?” he asked. Terry was interested, Stewart didn’t look like he belonged in a public highschool.

“Upper Gotham.” He chuckled. “Parents thought I would benefit from public school, instead of a private academy.” Of course it was a lie, but a clever one. Crane thought he should go to school, so he didn’t become stupid. It also gave him a chance to maintain a semi-normal life. No one could recognize him as Ghoul, he looked too well groomed, and his scars were hidden well.

Terry tilted his head, “Really? Most parents want their kids in private school.” he said. “That doesn’t matter though. We’re glad to have you.” Terry shuffled his foot, “Where are you off to? Maybe we have some classes together.” he said. He didn’t know why he was asking, there was a voice telling him it’s because he’s attractive, but Terry didn’t want to admit to that.

Stewart pulled his schedule out of his pocket and unfolded it, holding it out to show Terry. “My parents aren’t exactly normal, they don’t want me growing up acting spoiled.”
