Hope is less than thrilled to have the woman touching her, even for the briefest of moments. “Do not touch me,” she snaps, lifting her hand to slap away the vampire’s. Hope knew her magic affected her family and those types of vampires well, also the chimera boy she met. But her magic, she wasn’t sure of effective it would be against a demon. And she did not want to dip back into the dark magic she’d tried to hard to push away from her.
“How do you know all of this?” she demands, eyes narrowed in anger. This woman speaks in riddles dipped in truth and it hurts Hope that a stranger knows these things. “You are here with her.” Not a question, an accusation. “I will not go back, you will not take me back!” A snap of anger, a swirl of magic. The air crackles with electric energy and the wind picks up around them.
Drawing her hand back Drusilla smiled at the girl’s feisty reaction, “Something’s got you on edge,dearie... I can feel the electricity tumbling and rumbling inside you.”
She closed her eyes and drew a hand along her body as if feeling the current before stopping to answer the girl’s question. Her eyes snapped back open and she giggled, “The pixies whisper secrets to me.”
Blinking ins surprise, Drusilla stepped back at the accusation, tiling her head curiously at Hope. “Take you back to who, dearie?”
There was a tremble in her voice as the winds rose, “You’re all blue and white, swirling with ash.” She shook her head and stumbled back a few steps, trying to decipher the vision in front of her eyes. She reached back to hold onto the wrought iron cemetery gate and keep from falling. “What are you?”
