Gozaburo’s original concept for the virtual consciousness was a way to achieve immortality, and preserve his legacy. He was intending to insert his consciousness into another body (originally Noa, and then Seto).

He uploaded his consciousness into virtual reality as a last resort response to his own dying body, and never intended to allow Noa out.

Gozaburo’s entry into weapons distribution began with his assimilation into the Japanese bioweapons program from a background of chemistry and biology. He left Japan when a man offered him substantially greater pay and power to work for the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Gozaburo worked for the Soviet Union from 1965-1975, as a bioweapons developer, and later, a head facility distributor for the Biological Weapons program ‘Biopreperat’. He was very good at the movement and distribution of material between facilities. Gozaburo had a major hand in the mass production of anthrax.
