My interview!

So I got interviewed for a show on the Australian youth radio station Triple J called The Hook Up (marketed as sex ed, but cool!)  because they were doing a show on Asexuality.  This is the link to the entire program and fair warning, there is a lot of sexually explicit language in the first hour so skip to about 1:10:00 to get to the Asexual discussion and I am the first voice you will hear!! https://radio.abc.net.au/programitem/pgOL6MB5bV?play=true I was really excited for this opportunity and I think they did a pretty good job at covering a lot in there 1 hour

Good News Story

and this one is from me :) So I have been living back in my home town for 2 months now after living away for 5 years.  I am almost 5 months out of a very unhealthy relationship that lasted 6 years and I was really enjoying being single.

That was until about 2 weeks ago, when I found out that a guy in my games group really likes me (and wow how flattered I was because literally no guy has ever had a crush on me, including my 2 exes). 

I was so excited when we started getting to know each other better and we have so much in common and he is a really sweet guy I thought “I could get serious with this guy” but then I remembered the promise I had made myself, which was to be upfront about my asexuality with any people I decide I want to date. I was so terrified and nervous about telling him I’m ace, but we had been having DnMs about all sorts of things and I really felt like I could trust him.  I told him that there was something I wanted to share with him that I hadn’t told a lot of people, and then 2 days later when I told him (via message because I have anxiety) he said it was a huge relief because he thought I had some really horrible thing i wanted to tell him, and then he went on to say: “Ellen, I want you to know that I'm happy for you being who you are, not asking you to change for anyone or anything, you're just you. Seriously though, for telling me that, something so personal, you are an incredibly brave soul :) ....... I'm not just saying that you're an adorable woman just to 'woo' and 'score'.  I quite literally mean you are the sweetest, loveliest and most gentle person to walk into my life from out of nowhere” So fair to say I am one happy Ace chicky :3 It’s still very early days, but he has been so kind and accepting and we are both huge nerds, it’s a lot of fun hanging with him so I hope things work out in the long run :)  also, one of our mutual friends keeps telling me that this guy is absolutely smitten with me and I have no idea how to react to the fact that a guy genuinely really likes me without me having to try and make him like me!!!
