Please please please please help, I don’t know what to do for my poor horse :( the flies are getting her hind legs SO bad, I don’t know if it’s the actual flies or her itching, but her gaskins are pretty much raw. Hair is falling out in clumps, etc. and that’s just in the past week… I’ve been completely dousing it in fly spray, swat, antibiotic creams, and it’s just getting worse and IDEK what to do… any experience with this at all?? It’s not really an easily bandage able area but I would if someone has an idea. Or anything that can relieve itching??

Gaskins aren’t really an area for fly boots. @grabmane I’m so sorry to hear that you’re fighting this. Are you sure it’s flies/itching caused by flies and not an underlying skin problem? If there’s a problem and she itched, causing some blood, that would bring the flies in. I would suggest something like diaper rash cream or vitamin e cream to try to alleviate the itching and rawness. Honestly, I’d get a vet to take a look at her if it’s as bad as it sounds. :/ I hope you get it sorted out. I know it’s crazy frustrating. We have a horse with serious skin allergies and he rubs stuff raw all the time.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's aggravated by flies, idk if she's allergic or what... but it only happens when flies get bad so I'm pretty sure it's related. I mean she's okay but I just want her to be comfortable yanno? And yeah I'm def thinking about getting my vet out, that's kinda the sure bet. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
