Grace and Grit

Grace. & Grit:  def.  The ability to be both at once. People, places, cultural occurrences or moments in life that embrace both sides of everything. May be embodied in dress, charisma, attitude, artistic output, political message and/or general way of being. 1.  The Grace - in possession of a reverence for the past (lineage), for self, art, authenticity and spirit. 2. The Grit - Against the grain/sacrosanct/profane/failure/winner. (also referred to as FuNK or the DiRT)

So, gems for 2017 to take from Stephanie Mills' (all the way live) performance: 1.) Technical difficulties in life are just that. You already have the talent and skill to move forward in spite of. 2.) If you ever hope to save yourself/save the world/evolve/create on this earth you better make sure you got some "in the pocket & handlin my note" type folks in the background. The kind that know how to pop up in the silent spaces to remind you that the show will go on, that you have practiced and you're already prepared for this. 3.) Just finish it.
