If it wasn't this girl, of all people... huh.

The recent case.

"Oh, but they already are. They're warming up my hands and arms."

Swinging her sleeves around obnoxiously like someone would swing a jump rope around, Ougi smiled down at the shorter girl.

"I suppose this is the first time we've really met, isn't it? Last time I saw you, you were with Araragi-senpai. I feel as though I should apologize for whatever unspeakable things he was doing with a young girl at night!"

It was unclear whether her words were genuine or not, but Futo took the compliment to heart.

"Ho ho! Thou art correct. Lady luck doth shine ‘pon ye today with mine arrival, the arrival of the great and legendary — " She poses. "Mononobe clan!"

How long could she go on and on repeating her pride for her clan? Forever. But Ougi’s already said something to rub Futo the wrong way.

"A-Ah… Art thou positive in thy claim? Even with the knowledge of mine name…" She really wasn’t as good at converting as the Crown Prince.

"…Tch! State thy name, traveler! T’will be marked ‘pon mine memory for many days to come, I am not so easily defeated!"

"I'm positive, Mononobe-san."

"But you're the persistent type, aren't you?"

How charming. So persistent, she would even defy history books of her clan's death... perhaps the rest of her clan just weren't persistent enough. Keeping such thoughts to herself, Ougi smiled still-- extending a hand.

"My name is Oshino Ougi. Now, what Mononobe are you?"

Happily comply? How unexpected. With business like grace she would cant her head, all while her fingers remained poised upon her safety scissors. “I thank you for your cooperation.” It was hard to tell if she was sincere, though her monotonous tone always sort of projected a tactless air about her.

Blue eyes seemed to narrow a bit, her expression guarded when her name was spoken. “I prefer to be the cause of a troubled face, rather than be the wearer of one.” Brandishing her makeshift weapon, she would open it fully, resting one of the ‘sharp’ sides against one Oshino Ougi’s abnormally pale jugular. "Oshino Ougi-san…" The name seemed important enough to repeat, perhaps it was the family name. "Did you know, you could die in a manner of minutes from exsanguination if my tool were to sever your veins? It would then be my blade that was closer to you than your jugular.” Wait, did she just quote the Koran?!

"Just how long have you been waiting for senpai to notice you?"

It was a tense moment. But, Ougi remained still.

But perhaps denying Hitagi a look of dread only served to make the situation feel even more tense, as her smile kept still-- softening only a tad.

"You're just as frightening as Araragi-senpai told me you were!"

"That's alright, though. But would you be surprised if I said I wasn't?"

Pausing a bit, wetting her lips, Ougi wondered just what would become of her. Not like she was too worried, either way. But, still... an encounter like this was an outlier to the plan she had arranged.

There was no reason to meet Hitagi Senjougahara.

But on the other hand, there was no reason not to meet her now.

"I've only heard the stories of you, senpai! Araragi-senpai and Suruga-senpai have told me a bit about you. I never planned to actually meet you. Seeing your face in the hallways was fine enough for me, really."

Not good, not good. There were too many demons here, too many for him to take out…the despair he felt had been growing, and without the guidance of the others, he didn’t know what to do. He clutched at his head, his expression clearly distressed.

”I’m lost…damn…frick those dicks! I mean rarrrgh, they just piss me off so much I dunno what to do!”

Never mind the person he’d been standing next to, he was just venting out his frustrations the only way he could. If he couldn’t stop from being a coward, he’d hit the fear out of him.

At the time he was preparing to do so to his left arm. "I’m not scared! I can’t be scared! I’m the Hero…he…hehe…hehehehe….."

Such colorful language for a child.

"Hero, you say?"

Having been listening to his ramblings, it was time for Ougi to step in-- or lean in, in her case.

"But naturally the hero should be scared. If a hero is never scared or has no reason to be scared, then that makes for a rather dull story. And a rather dull hero to go along with it. So of course the hero can be scared."

"The hero can't handle everything on his own, right? That's why the hero needs partners and guides to help him on the way. Every hero has a guide."

Stating it in such a matter-of-fact manner, Ougi makes it come off as the ultimate truth as she looms over the boy, smiling plainly.

Reaching out with chubby fingers, he gives her gloved hand a delicate shake before using his other to carress the back of it. "A pleasure to meet you. I am Teruteru Hanamura. It would be more than appreciated if you could.”

And she was quick to retract her hand back-- sleeve flopping around like a wriggling snake. Ah, what a feisty one. She was reminded of a certain young man whose sexual drive was always at one hundred percent.

"I've been here before, so of course I'd be at ease."

Stating it plainly, she let her arms fall to her sides.

"They gave you place to stay. Was it an apartment, or district?"

When eyes befell a certain individual, wearing the Naoetsu Private High School uniform, there was a cause of examination as to whom the wearer intended to be. For most, however, they wanted to retain an air of mystery, leaving it more of a challenge to garner the necessary information.

Frankly, though, from the back and side profiles she wouldnt be surprised if she had mistaken this stranger for an individual that she knew with such a level of heightened eroticism that he would dress in female clothing in order to complete some sort of deplorable action. “I’ll ask who you are, and while I might be met with no answer at first, I strongly urge you to reconsider; for I am the type that is going to force the issue further with increasingly drastic measures the longer you deny my request.”

Without a doubt, there was no one else whom had such a sharp tongue. So sharp, it was as though Ougi could feel those words against her back, like daggers stabbed into her body. Such a chill!

Of course, this was to be expected.

Because this was Hitagi Senjougahara, after all.

"No need to worry--"

Right away, Ougi spoke.

"I don't need to reconsider anything! I'll happily comply for you."

And with a slightly eccentric turn, black hair tossing around before plainly sitting on her pale features once more, Ougi Oshino faces Hitagi with that everlasting smile of hers.

"My name is Oshino Ougi. It's nice to meet you, Senjougahara-senpai."

... Using the other's name without her senpai knowing her own wasn't exactly the best idea. Rather, that was a mistake. But it was best to roll with the punches, as they say.

Or roll with the staples, in her case.

As such, she outstretches a hand-- pulling back her oversized sleeve to actually show those black gloved fingers of hers.

"My name is Ougi. Ougi Oshino. How about I lend you a hand?"

"Never met any…" Futo’s pose softens, pitying the poor girl. To have grown up without an inkling of an idea of the greatest religion in the world? Disastrous.

"Well, luck hath elected ye a contestant! For what stands before you is no simple Taoist, but a member of the Mononobe clan." She outstretches a hand galliantly.

"Fear not! I shall take it upon mineself to educate thee and set thine feet running on the right path! How dost thou respond, youth!?"

Canting her head aside, Ougi looks intrigued.

But after glancing at... well. All of Futo, her intrigue falls in to simple curiosity instead.

"Hm. The same clan that's become nothing more than ancient history? Well now, I certainly am lucky, aren't I? Meeting a relic of the past is not something anyone ever does that often. Unless you're just some strange cosplayer, anyways."

Ougi chuckles.

"Ah, but, none of this really correlates with your query, does it? My response is... a pass. I'm not interested in adopting a religion."

"Was that pity? I meant to offer sympathy, instead. Wow. My bad."

"To be fair, I haven't ever seen any Taoists of your height in any particular poses. I don't believe I've met any Taoists before, actually."
