Quarter sawn walnut & stainless steel. Yummy. An absolutely perfect fit mortise for this 3/8 steel bar. Its very satisfying when parts slide together easily with no play. A little extra care and attention is all it takes. #woodworking #millwork #dayjob #steel

#tbt to this 16' #bar I made in April for a swanky condo lounge in downtown #toronto. This was a very challenging piece with many odd angles that are not obvious in this photo. I wish there was a shot of the other side but my boss only sent me this one photo. I struggled with this for almost two weeks but when I finished it gave me a huge confidence boost and finally seeing this photo months later really drives it home. This was a fun project. One can only build so many rectangular boxes before one relishes a challenge. Looks and feels like a real #guitar and the 1.5" mdf body makes it as heavy as one too. The headstock skull was also my first real attempt at #carving. But alas this is just a #prop for a friends #halloween #costume. It is fuckin metal though. #woodworking #adventuretime #fun
