How often do they show their genuine emotions to others versus just the audience knowing?

Lysander wears very few masks when it comes to joy. He laughs freely, flirts shamelessly, celebrates beauty wherever he finds it, and rarely hides his fascination with people. His sorrow, however, is another matter entirely. After centuries, he has become remarkably skilled at disguising pain behind charm. Most characters meet the host. Only the audience ever meets the person beneath him.

17. What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?

Lysander uses mirrors out of habit rather than vanity. He’ll straighten his clothes, fix a stray curl, touch up his makeup whenever he chooses the face he loves most, or adjust a cuff, but he rarely lingers. After all these centuries, his own reflection has very little left to tell him. He’s always been far more interested in the people around him than in himself. Most people, however, notice an almost otherworldly beauty and a smile capable of dissolving every distance between strangers.

Lysander claims all he needs is good company, good wine and stories worth remembering. In truth, what he longs for has always been much simpler, and far more dangerous: someone who never leaves.
