POV: You tell your cool photographer friend the impulsive desire to pose on a dining table. With a sword. In the nude. And your soon-to-be (now) wife does lighting.

A silly little sketch I did today with a mechanical pencil
The main characters from my novel, The Tsarina's Favorite, Alaina and Mikalay. (And despite being an unexpected monster romance, it's based on historical events.)
Even with the release of The Tsarina's Favorite, I am still on the hunt for more primary sources about Prince Mikhail Alekseevich Golitsyn.
Non-fic bio in the future? Very likely!
I've read all the Russian I can for today and my French rabbit hole has to wait until I find a physical copy of the specific book. I expected more in German, but 🤷♂️
So I read Terrible Tsarinas by Henri Troyat (a gift from my wife).
The misogyny is.... ooof.
And according to Troyat, the "docile Golitsyn" *checks notes* "joined in" the buffoonery, as if he had a #$>%ing choice! WTF.
Watched the del Toro Frankenstein.
My takeaway: very pretty, but del Toro wanted to direct the Hallmark Channel miniseries and ended up making a very weak take on classic lit. Alec Newman may be annoying, but PLEASE go watch the Hallmark mini series with Luke Goss instead.

Who has finished???? No spoilers!
Today is my birthday (I'm 387 according to GoodReads, no lie)
but it's also, for really real, the birthday of my real-life main character in The Tsarina's Favorite (which released today!)
