He's middle aged, past his prime and terrified of becoming obsolete (so we must show him that he's loved!)

He is around 15 feet tall and can shrink to the size of an ant ("Tall enough to be a giant, handsome, apron- wearing older husband, and small enough so he can be like a glooby, cute pet that can be kept in a cage.")

He was originally supposed to look more like an Ant and had four arms in his early concept drawings

He'd do ANYTHING to entertain you and is desperate for validation

He has abandonment issues and deeply misses his ex who also happens to be a tumblr sexyman

He's emotionally unstable and has rapid moodswings

He would definetly cry and be depressed for weeks if he lost the contest

He's a single dad who loves his daughter

He is traumatized and just wants to be loved

the knight's identity is called into question by the deltarune chapter 2 ending and cliffhanger, and although the "who" and the "why" are always closely linked, in knight discussions they became intertwined and were often used interchangeably. people were working with a very limited pool of evidence for years and "why" stayed very speculative, while "who" felt more solvable or at least more helpful to ask. people who enjoy analyzing stuff would discuss the "who" to get to the "why" but it was still fun to engage with less seriously and knight identity discussions became a deltarune fan pastime. anyways by now it's more the fandom asking "who" than the game, but it was originally the game that introduced the knight identity question! also I love a good well-written cliffhanger

Is the Knight's identity ever actually brought into question within the game? Or is this mystery entirely fandom-made? /gen

I enjoy a good Knight theory as much as the next guy, but I have to wonder if their identity really matters as much as we think it does.

I feel the whole mystery with the Knight is less "who are they" and more "why are they doing this" (but tbf both of those questions could easily be answered at the same time)

UPDATE: It WAS originally brought up by the game back in chapter 2, it's just that it tends to be more discussed in fandom than by the characters. Big thanks to the person who answered my question!

people in the deltarune community (not calling them fans) seem to be fine with queer pairing/characters but have a huge different reaction to anything transgender revolving their game

oh but when it comes to characters being transgender, nonbinary, agender etc etc.
