The New Years count down. The sounds of the clock would almost have made him flinch back, except her hand was on his face and almost without thought, Percival leant into her touch.

It was a touch without malice, meant only for comfort and love.

It had been too long since someone had been willing to offer him some of that gentle comfort.

So at the stroke of midnight, he leans in. There is a subtle twist about his lips that marks a blend between bemusement and genuine attraction.

Her lips are cold and yet gentle, yealding under his touch.

The crowd erupts into cheer around them, but he is lost in his senses.

When his lips touched hers, Séverine was a lost woman. She leaned to him, toning out all the cheering around the duo. She had never shared a New Year’s Kiss before; && she certainly hadn’t thought she’d be sharing one at this very moment. It was a good way to end the year && start a new one. 

She hummed between their lips, her hands on his rough cheek. Fireworks were all over the place, && the wizards were celebrating as they light up their own flares. Perhaps, the muggles wouldn’t notice. His lips were a little chapped, but it was soft && responsive.

❝Alright you two, games done!! ❞ A young Auror yelled from behind.

The blonde broke the kiss, her eyes fluttering open once more as she looked up at him so innocently. She blushes but didn’t step away from him.

❝Thank you, Director. That was…❞ She chuckled lightly, ❝…breath-taking…❞

It takes him a moment to regain his senses, to part from her and breath in the air. The crowd is riotous around them, but he catches her words nonetheless. “No, that was...” Percival runs a hand through his hair, messing up the gel. “That was indeed quite wonderful.”

Then, almost as an afterthought. “Let's hope the office is satisfied.”

They are. People move away from them with a chorus of approvals, patting his back with a wry smile. 

“I hope my...skills...aren't too rusty yet.” The words come in some sort of strange admission, aided by the alcohol settling low in his stomach. “And I’m glad you enjoyed it.”
