As Nexus began to gain power around 2020, Bruce began to take more and more jobs from them. Due to the rising tensions and conflicts for the Rebellion, Bruce and Claire didn't end up getting together as soon or in quite the same way. However, in 2026, when she came up high priority on his list of desired captures, he intentionally botched the job. Some time after that, he worked out a deal with her, wherein he sneaked what information he could from Nexus and passed it along to her and other Rebels (this included being an occasional contact for Richard, while he was under cover). However, as he continues to do what jobs he can for Nexus, it's difficult to tell where his loyalties truly lie.
Due to all of the terrible things happening across the country, Nico and Sophia couldn't really justify leaving in 2016, and so stayed in New York with the Rebellion, and lived an extremely careful life of keeping their children safe and fighting for post-human rights. They now have two beautiful progeny-- Fiona, 19, and Zachary, 15-- who they love very much, and have also joined the fight for freedom (though they're often kept away from the front lines). It's a very good thing, at the moment, that Fiona has a level head on her shoulders and can look after her brother, because both Nico and Sophia just lost a sibling in the recent jail break, and coping is... Well, it's difficult.Â
Owen never graduated to be the public face of the science division, and instead stayed down in the labs working on his research full time. In 2019, he got the first word that his father had been sighted. However, it wasn't until two years later that he finally got his hands on the man. Things from there proceeded as you might expect; he spent the next few months using the man to perform various experiments, before he decided that he'd outlived his usefulness and let him die. When his sister found out, it caused something of a rift between them, and he hasn't heard much from her since she and her wife moved to Vermont. Three years later, in 2024, was the first time that he finally produced a cure he was truly confident in. However, Nexus forced him to human trials far earlier than he was prepared for, and the side effects were... Horrifying, to say the least. He almost left Nexus altogether, but with no real connections outside of work, and no one in Nexus that he truly trusted, he couldn't think of where he would go or how he would get there, so he stayed where he was. By 2035, he's created an effective cure for post-humanity, with far fewer of the horrific side effects displayed in earlier serums. Nexus is his entire life, and his mental state has deteriorated considerably, but he's still functioning. Mostly.Â
With the strong presence of the Rebellion, the Horsemen never felt the need to rise to power and create their own group. Well, most of them didn't. War went through with any number of half-baked plans to wrest control from Petrelli, but none were particularly successful. Eventually, she decided that he'd earned her grudging respect, and she threw her time into making the group the best that it could be from the inside, rather than from the top. She spent a lot of time training different agents of the Rebellion in various fighting techniques and in the use of a good number of different weapons. Unfortunately, for all her fighting skill, she still got captured during a raid in 2025. As she spent basically every waking moment trying to escape, Nexus kept her sedated for a good amount of the time that she was there. During the recent jailbreak, she took a stray bullet fighting alongside her best friend, and didn't make it out alive.Â
In the wake of the 2012 attack on the Rebellion headquarters, Richard became more involved than ever. However, recognizing the need to be discreet (just in case), he also set about making sure that his identity couldn't be connected to the Rebellion, and creating a plausible life completely separate from it, when he had the time. He went back to school at nights, and finished his psychology degree. Eventually, he gained the credentials to become a practicing psychotherapist, and signed on for a few days a week with a local practice, spending all of his spare time outside of that with the Rebellion. In an effort to avoid suspicion, he got the ID tattoo in 2015, not too long after it was issued. He began to quietly formulate a plan. A few years later, after discovering a mole within the Rebellion, Richard finally brought his plan to Peter. It took some convincing, but Richard was stubborn, and not much later he got his way. In November, 2019, he was able to get a job at Nexus. Using his degree and ability, he got a job working interrogation and information gathering, and was in this way able to do his part to mess with some of the information that Nexus was getting, and pass information along to the Rebellion when he got the chance. He was able to meet with the Rebellion far more in the early years, but eventually it became nearly impossible. When he could, he met with parties that weren't known to be connected to either side (people like Bruce) but could still be trusted to ferry the information across, but he hasn't been able to meet with any Rebellion members in person for a few years, now (he has, on rare occasion, been able to communicate with them telepathically from a distance, but even those tries are risky). He used the recent jailbreak as a cover to escape from Nexus, hoping that they'll assume him either dead or captured, and return to his friends in the Rebellion.Â
**as War is no longer living during this timeline, I will be using her account to play Nico for the duration of the event (outside of other replies that I owe on her)
