“Greater Shade”?
I wanna tell the story behind my URL, cause it’s actually kinda interesting, I think.
A while back, like a few days before Kaycee’s Mod first went into beta, to give you an idea of the time frame, we were replaying Inscryption in German to see what it was like.
So, during Act 1, one of our Death Cards, which had both the Fledgling and Loose Tail sigils, dropped their tail after evolving -
And for some reason, the tail was labelled “Greater Shade”:
I’d probably just have assumed this was what “human” tails were called, but the fact that it had an English name in the German version tipped us off that this was probably not supposed to happen?
I tested this again on my own a little while later, and when I did, my own experimental Fledgling + Loose Tail Death Card “Skinkeroo” would spawn “Skinkeroo Tail” when not evolved, and “Greater Shade” when evolved.
Looking into it more, “Greater Shade” is apparently the internal file name for evolved Death Cards?
So based on that, I'd guess that when a Death Card has evolved, the tail it drops unintentionally grabs that file name instead of whatever you actually named your card.
And since this scenario is so rare, it probably hadn’t really been noticed, maybe.
In any case, I was intrigued by it.
