Sketch. Need to decompress. Follow the pencil; don't think too much. End up somewhere.
Cal vs the Second Sister. Figures drawn in pencil on sketchpaper, background finished digitally.
Cal and BD-1 leaving the Bogano Vault.
I recently played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and really enjoyed the story and characters. So, it's fanart time.
Resurfacing from an unexpected, unwanted art hiatus. Hello, Vega and Zhael - it's good to be back and drawing again.
I'm on a short art hiatus currently - but in the meantime, I had the privilege of doing an editorial illustration for Edition 4 of Soul Tread Magazine, a local Christian magazine, back in August. This was my first freelance commission and it was a valuable experience! The magazine issue was recently released, and many thanks to the Soul Tread team for commissioning me.
From the third week of Inktober.
Day 21 - Fuzzy.
Day 22 - Open.
Day 23 - Leak.
Day 24 - Extinct, featuring the thylacine (Tasmanian tiger).
Inktober Day 20, Sprout.
I like the blue ballpoint sketch as much as the "final" black version. As much as I tried to keep the same looseness and gesture in the second drawing, the act of copying already stiffens the piece.
Inktober.
Day 18 - Moon.
Day 19 - Loop.
Inktober Day 17, Collide. Tribute to the movie, Alita: Battle Angel.
This one required quite a bit of thumbnailing and use of references. A bunch of posing in front of the mirror, and watching sections of the Motorball scene from the movie.
Inktober continues.
Day 11 - Sour.
Day 12 - Stuck, according to VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action.
Day 13 - Roof.
Day 14 - Tick.
Day 15 - Helmet.
Day 16 - Compass, according to His Dark Materials.
All the birds I drew for my 50 Bird drawing challenge, from May - September. I used each set of 10-ish birds to practice a different drawing technique.
Birds 1-10 with pencil; 11-20 with fineliner (as much as possible, drawn in a single line without lifting the pen); 21-32 with brush pen; 33-50 with digital painting.
Digital birds 42-50 were each painted in 30-60 minutes with a single brush. Birds 48-50 were drawn with linework then painted in.
Find out what else I was up to during the months of July - September at my Quarterly Art Review blog post!
Inktober.
Day 8 - Watch.
Day 9 - Pressure.
Day 10 - Pick.
Inktober Day 7, Fan. I had two ideas for this day's prompt, so I drew both of them.
Inktober is going well. Some days have been more inspiring than others, but overall I've been having plenty of fun with the prompts.
Day 4 - (Tree) Knot.
Day 5 - Raven (Girl).
Day 6 - (Holy) Spirit.
My 50 Bird drawing challenge is finished! (Actually finished before Inktober.) This final bird is a little eagle.
I blogged about the challenge and other things at my Weekly Art Dispatch.

I have been doing Inktober.
Day 1 - Crystal man.
Day 2 - Suit.
Day 3 - Vessel. An image I've had in my head for many years, of the climactic scene between Severian and the Autarch in The Citadel of the Autarch, the last book of Gene Wolfe's magnificent epic, The Book of the New Sun. Today's prompt was the perfect chance to finally draw it out.
