If we were SJ (Swedish Railways)...
... facing first serious private competitor MTR Express, with an offering of “first class for everyone” and star chef food onboard ... we would take a different approach!
We would hatch on a restaurant kitchen car to our train and offer all the new exciting food truck owners a chance to cook on our trains. Imagine going on a 3.5 hour trip between the two largest cities in Sweden and always being excited about the food that is served. Wouldn’t that be something?

Could banners be better for your brand than TV commercials?
The last years our industry has increasingly dismissed banners as a traffic driving tool. We treat them as a second class media, the ugly duckling of media formats.
“No one sees banners. Much less click them.”
— the accepted truth in campaign planning meetings, and as a result banner media is bought without much afterthought and the media itself is produced as a byproduct.
What if we are greatly misstaken and are missing great branding opportunities? Wesley R. Hartmann at Stanford would have us believe so. He and his colleagues have published the first ever thorough study on the difference in brand building effects between TV and internet ads — and surprisingly enough (or perhaps not) banners show to have at least equal effect on consumers when it comes to brand building. Internet Versus Television Advertising: A Brand-Building Comparison When looking at the report the numbers for effective reach and delivered brand message are similar for TV and Banners. However the ratio between impressions and relevance are much higher for banners — something that I believe often makes us dismiss it as a non functioning media. What if we instead would turn the argument around and see it as a great opportunity. A good creative solution could easily change the ratio by a few percent, and would then all of a sudden yield increased ROI by hundreds of per cent. What if the greatest reason for failing to build brand affinity through banners is our own failure in putting in love in the creative process?
If we were Nokian Tyres (or Goodyear)...
We would look into Fobo's Bluetooth Tire Pressure Monitoring system.
https://my-fobo.com/Product/FOBOTIRE
Never get out of the car to check the air pressure again. Nokian's R&D lab was looking into something similar back into 2004, but as far as we can see nothing has hit the consumer market yet.
Could also be a very good customer loyalty product for gas stations. As soon as your pressure drops below preferable levels you get a good deal on coffee and donuts in the next station.
