Organized religion is proof men are fine with abdicating a part of their freedom (at least theoretically) if it means that women will lose more of theirs.
Same shit with conservative women who want women to lose the right to vote: it's not that they want to lose the right to vote, they want a more conservative country, but they want leftist women to lose the right to vote and if they have to lose their voting potential for that to be achieved, they will do the sacrifice.
A great part of regressive ideologies is "I don't mind restricting my freedom if my adversary will be more restricted than me"
