Taking meds is an admission that you have an illness/disability. Most wellness & self-optimization products/treatments, however, are marketed with vague promises that make it easier to avoid having to do that.

It's not chronic fatigue, you're just tired and need to take a revitalizing supplement, something that boosts your energy levels and read 15 books on productivity & motivation!

I just came across a thread on r/migraine about pillows & the top comment was referencing the "Endless Pillow Quest". Apparently a lot of people just keep buying pillows in hopes that one will cure them. Even though it typically never works (for long).

We've all tried the lifestyle changes approach, and people won't stop trying any time soon.

In my case, it was mostly because the meds weren't working, because migraine was the wrong diagnosis. It was debilitating & I was just trying anything out of desperation. Cluster headaches will have you acting like that... it could've been worse.

It didn't do shit, but I kept trying. I even got dangerously close a few times to trying a low carb diet, which would've gone against everything I believe in.

Thankfully, I got the right diagnosis & meds eventually by being persistent & advocating for myself. Now I can actually exercise, eat well (anything I want! tons of carbs yay) and take care of myself in all the ways people associate with good health — as long as I take my meds.

Without the meds, I'd be right back to struggling to brush my teeth & shower regularly because I'd be fucking exhausted every day from the pain & neurological symptoms.

It was culture day in school and I am so proud of having a majority non-white-british school because there was so much diversity in the way everyone dressed, there were so many girls were wearing these beautiful sarees and people had like the Jamaican and Palestinian flag wrapped around their neck like a cape, it's was beautiful
