Sometimes I can't believe how good life can be, despite everything. I couldn't have dreamed of a life like this when I was growing up, but here it is anyway.

Every day I try to clean and every day there is more mess anyways. What is this sorcery??!
I can't blame my mom for this one guys. I don't just live in an ingredient household, I MADE an ingredient household. And I have NOTHING to eat. :(((
Okay, problem solved I have frozen samosas and everything is fine.
Okay so far I'm actually really enjoying Steven Universe Future. (Just finished E5 Bluebird) It seems more emotionally challenging than SU- you can see Steven really struggle and not do the best things, but it doesn't make fun of him or seem mean-spirited. It feels real in a painful and relatable way, whereas SU is a sort of beautiful and comforting fantasy. Not sure how they made this difference between the shows, as both shows' episodes are only 11 minutes long, but there is some qualitative difference between the kinds of conflicts in each, how they are handled and resolved.
I'm really enjoying the tension between how Steven doesn't want to be anything like his mom but keeps acting in little and big ways like her. The first instance that really stood out to me was how in E2 Guidance he thought he could decide for the gems what kinds of jobs they should do, and in doing so behaved exactly like the diamonds deciding what all other gems are for. How even though the gems were deciding to do similar jobs to what they had done before, it was still them making the decision, and when they did very different jobs it was him, a diamond, deciding for them. I just thought it was cool storytelling.
It's like Steven's heart is in a good place - he wants things to turn out well for the other gems and himself, and doesn't want to hurt them - but the way he's going about it isn't right because he's trying to bring it about his way, rather than their ways. He's trying to help everyone, but his helping is more imposing and micromanaging than helping others on their own self-directed path.
Also I don't have an english degree and barely do any literary analysis so this is just me liveblogging my reaction to Steven Universe Future.

New job starts tomorrow and Steven Universe has me by the clutches.
Either my wallet is going to die buying healthier premade foods or I'm gonna die eating what I can make for myself.
diabetic but only have the mental capacity for cooking pasta and toast. I'm not gonna make it guys. At least its high protein wheat alternative pasta and whole wheat toast?? Still not gonna make it.
Just got a helix piercing! 🤞🤞🤞 please let it heal well. Alas I did not think of the consequences of not being able to wear headphones for the next while. :'(
Problem solved with old airplane Nokia earbuds and cheap bluetooth earbuds when desiring to move around while listening to something (how I get most things done).
I never thought I'd ever be one of the people wearing cordless earbuds but here we are. And when I inevitably get another cartilage piercing they'll come in handy. Or when I'm lightweight traveling for the weekend or something.
I failed to realise when getting my piercing that cleaning it will get saline not only on the piercing but also on the surrounding areas.
I will be... salty... for a year. I hate salt water.
FML but I love my new piercing.

Thomas Kuhn why do you show up everywhere?
damn, the increased risk of skin problems with diabetes got hands
all my problems are solved with steroids
Every doctor's appointment this past year:
That's weird... why is it _? That shouldn't have happened.
"My mother had never known me either, though it wasn't because I hadn't given her a chance. I'd given her a lot of chances. What was saddest was that she didn't seem to want to know me, not as I was on the inside. I wasn't even sure if she could grasp that I had an inside, that I was real. Sometimes it seemed impossible that she had ever given birth to me at all. Other times, it made perfect sense that I had lived inside her for so long. It explained why she could only see me as an extension of herself."
