idk i think ive reached a point in my life where i dont care enough to listen to a meh waterparks song multiple times in the hopes that itll grow on me. i like most of greatest hits, even if i have gripes with a lot of the lyrics, but i think if it came out today that wouldn't be the case. i like the songs because i was willing to listen to the album multiple times and get used to them, because i loved waterparks. after ip i lost confidence in awsten as a lyricist so its harder for me to go into new songs with an open mind (and with jinx i really did try). its just hard to listen to new parx songs when i know there are other songs out there that have good instrumentals And dont have lyrics that make me roll my eyes. and i could be listening to those instead

first thoughts before i go into work:

tell me why: awsten isn't a clever enough lyricist for this to work for me. this also goes for a lot of the other songs on the album, but we need to ban awsten from making jokes in a song until he figures out to do it in a clever way that doesnt make me wanna die. instrumentals are great

red guitar: same criticisms as tell me why. i hate it when he breaks the fourth wall

ilwc: i actually kinda liked this one! might be because i couldnt understand what he was saying

prowler: another good one i think? idk i was driving for most of these but i dont remember anything standing out in a bad way
