She nodded happily, the smile was still on her face. She then looked at the other, giving Kido her brightest and softest smile.

“I-I understand..”

She nodded once again before picking up her own teacup, she then slowly stood up, “A-are you done, Kido-san..?” She asked and tilted her head slightly to the side.

“O-or do you want another one..?”

Kido was relived that she could atleast make the other smile like that. May have not been noticeable but every smile of her friends were dear to keep.

"That's good then."

She then took the last sip from her own teacup. "Yes I am." She paused. "Ah, no it's fine, that was enough."

Oh..? A wave of visible excitement makes its way onto his face.

“Hey, Kido!!”

The boy’s exclamatory jolt adds on with heavily gestured cheeriness. This was a huge relief, actually; a lack of familiar faces definitely proved enough to spark a bit of anxiousness in anyone.

“I haven’t seen you around in a while! How’re you?”

"Seto.." She muttered as she turned her gaze to the other.

It's been a while since she saw him, slightly relieved to see he's doing fine. She herself hasn't seen many familiar faces before, she knew the feeling.

"I could say the same.. I'm alright. You though?"

“R-really? I’m not being a bother to you all…?”

Mary blinked a few times before smiling, she was glad to know that she was actually could be useful for the others, that the fact the others needed her. She giggled lightly.

“I-I’m glad…”

She then softly sighed in relieved, her mother always told her to not being a bother to everyone so they wouldn’t get in trouble, that’s why Mary always stayed silent, she just followed what she have to do. She didn’t want to be a bother. She didn’t want to make any trouble for everyone.

"You're not.." She muttered. Seeing the other smile was a relief to her. She then closed her eyes as she leant her back on the chair.

Not once did Kido consider Mary as a bother, infact she was glad that they had her with them, in its own way it was a good thing for her to be there.

"You should stay as you are.. it's for the best."

Mary nodded slowly as she put down her teacup on the table.

“U-um….C-can I ask why did you want me to join your group? I-I mean…I-I did have a special ability like you all do, b-but…I-I still think I’m useless for everyone…”

She fidgeted a bit and looked down at her lap, true enough, she seemed a bit useless for everyone. Everyone else always did their best but her, she was nothing but trouble, she was clumsy, got lost easily, and on top of it, she was different. In many ways.

“….I-I’m sorry for asking such question! Y-you don’t need to answer it if you don’t want to!” She then said and waved her hands around quickly.

Even though Mary was struggling to bring up the topic, Kido remained calm and tried to recall why they wanted her to join the Mekakushidan. Certainly they all had abilities however in some way they might have needed Mary(?) The reason was remained hidden but at this time how does she answer the question? Why did they exactly want her to join? At any rate, Kido would try to explain.

"Hm, reason huh.. I'm not sure myself, to be honest. But at the very least don't think you're useless, you try to help us in any way you can.." She paused.

True, Mary is clumsy and all different. However, everyone was different in their own ways, which was what defined the lot of them from each other. Besides being protected or whatever you call it, isn't such a bad thing.

She lightly patted the other's head before sitting down again.

"It's fine, don't worry about it.."

Carefree and careless, though the two words were so closed together, their meanings were so different. But he was both of these things. One would suppose as time wore on, a more mature, responsible the boy would’ve become. Apparently this was not the case for Kano, whose antics seemed to have taken a turn for something a little more… irresponsible. 

He was unaware of the vibe his words had brought, at first he hadn’t realized how close the words were to… He smiled.

“Well of course you’d want me to choose, huh? I have the best taste in activities, right?” he laughed.

True, Kano might have been more of a irresponsible guy however at times he could actually be mature enough to help her. But really.. Kano was an important person to her, she herself might have not been aware of it yet but he really was. That attitude of his was a good thing that complimented hers, well, in a certain special way.

Those words were indeed the same words she's heard before. For some reason it was one of the things she wouldn't, or couldn't forget.

"Right right whatever you say.."

After returning to the silence for just a bit, he returned her gaze. After his previous question it seemed things took a turn for the worse, making the conversation even more difficult to keep up with. Now, maybe it would be time or a different approach. 

“Do you want to do anything?” Konoha asked softly, a rather unsure tone to his voice. There wasn’t anywhere in particular he had to be at any certain time, so it wouldn’t do any harm to spend a while with his friend.

"Well.. I don't really have much in mind.." Muttered the jade-haired girl. She didn't have plans at the time, might as well spend some time with a friend. However where could they possibly go to spend the time? She lightly leant on the nearby wall trying to think what was exactly there to do.
