Quick question stovey, how far are you in the iruma-kun manga? Did you reach the hell-dance chapter? Ch168? The one where the class does a musical?

If yes then know that the anime adapted it a bit ago and I just saw it a couple days ago and honestly? Better than I expected out of the anime. I'm not following along the anime these days (or the manga) but it was recommended and I saw it and I liked it, and I was kinda worried they would butcher it or not give the chapter it's justice (it's an amazing chapter, one of my favorites across all medias, it's simply that good. I still like the chapter a bit better due to the chills it gave me when I first read it and the art and all, but the anime also gave me chills multiple times while seeing it and the music especially was much better than I expected???)

Anyways long story short. You will probably wanna check it out soon, if not the episode then at least the musical clip on YouTube (I haven't watched the full episodes just yet, and the musical clip was around 14 minutes?? Which??? They really did a whole musical lol. Kudos to the production team, especially given the budget. Worth the wait in my opinion. Will probably watch the full episode once I can, but meanwhile I'm watching the last 3 minutes of the hell-dance on loop cause wow did they put their all in the score and the singing)

I used to be caught up but it's been AGES LMAO. Last thing I remember was the whole "Iruma incidentally helps classmate's brother steal from a museum, Iruma might get upset/angry for once cliffhanger but he isn't." I do NOT know the hell dance (or I'm forgetting it which is very likely), and DAMN 14 min musical clip is incredible??? I might check that out when iruma-obession swings back around.

I have no idea what arc you're talking about, which likely means that I haven't reached it yet, which mean any arc I know, you probably also know

Last arc I remember is the school one I think, with the teachers vs students

But either way, if you remember the demdol arc (where irumi becomes GOTH) then you probably also know the hell-dance arc, where the characters all played a musical called Lilith carpet, and the manga chapter was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, it was a 42 page (DOUBLE THE USUAL AMOUNT WHILE STILL ON A WEEKLY SCHEDULE BTW) and the whole thing literally brought me chills reading it from just how amazing it was

It was the arc purson soi appeared in, the guy that has the power to disappear/ make people not notice him, and likes playing the trumpet? As for the musical, Elizabeth, the tall blonde demon, is the heroine of it and it's essentially tells the love life of Lilith, a demoness looking for love, rejecting one after another due to one reason or another

I'm just kinda hoping my description gives you a slight, like, help into remembering the arc? So that when you eventually see the musical (on YouTube you can find it) you remember what's going

Then again going in blind is also a good option I think

Mulan AU where she does get caught by the other fresh recruits while she's bathing but Mushu helps her spin it like the lake is cursed by an evil lizard demon and will turn men into women if they stay in it for too long.

From there it's not actually difficult to get the other soldiers onboard with covering up the fact that poor Ping took one for the team and got afflicted by the vagina curse, especially since it would have been all of them if they hadn't gotten the warning ahead of time. So they agree to help him cover it up, because obviously the army's not going to understand.

Shang is... tentatively glad that the men are bonding and getting along, even if they continue to be deeply weird about it.

Mulan: Uh, what boobs? Huh? Where did these come from?

Mulan: ....uh. well. maybe? no one's ever tried to find out.

Yao: [thinking very fast] y'know Captain it's just so hard to find recruits these days.

Chien Po: Real shortage of men.

Ling: Lots of women, though.

Mulan: [catching on] Without marriage prospects.

Shang: You're right, men. The spirits must have done this in order to show us that we should be recruiting women as fighters.

Mushu [from the shadows, seeing an opportunity to do the funniest thing]: EXACTLY, LI SHANG. I HAVE TRANSFORMED PING INTO A WOMAN BECAUSE YOU HAVE TOO LONG OVERLOOKED THE TRUE WAY TO WIN THE WAR.

Mulan [seeing an opportunity to get all the stories straight]: O Great Spirit, is it reversible?

some of y’all will be engaging in witch hunt, accusing writers left and right and then wondering why more and more writers take their works down and don’t share them with you ungrateful losers anymore.

“this fic looks like it was created by ai” yeah that’s because ai was trained on human-made works and it was trained to mimic human-made works.

you claim you hate ai because ai harms real artists, yet you are out there accusing and harassing artists because “their vibes just aren’t right”. at this point, you are the ones who cause more harm — to art and the writing community — than ai does.

you are the ones killing art and writing community, the community you want to “protect against ai”.

so at this point, you’re killing the community faster than ai is. good luck when the community you want to protect has no human-made work left because you accused and harassed genuine artists/writers away and the only things that are left for you to read are actual ai-generated fics.

if you think a fic is ai and if that bothers you like it does me, quietly exit the tab and avoid their future works like a normal, decent person. because with every "this fic looks ai" comment, there's always a chance of you wrongly accusing an innocent writer and further harming the writing community as a whole.

AND OMG YUGIOHH??? that takes me fucking back, omfg, that was my favorite show for a hot minute when I was younger, but I haven't thought about it seriously in years? I haven't read the manga whatsoever, just the original show's first 1-2 seasons, I think? maybe just season one? i've definitely watched a little bit of yugioh 0, ilysm green haired kaiba lol. yearnful sigh, i miss the fucking spontaneous death games for criminals, do NOT let yugi/yami catch you robbing a diner ig. and sharing a body 'cause you solved a puzzle!!! i think that started my love of possession/sharing a body, actually.

also I think at this point in time everyone has seen a little bit of Yu-Gi-Oh, it's simply impossible to escape it in it's golden days, that being said, same actually!!! I also only watched bits and pieces and literally didn't remember anything from it? And I didn't know season 0 (which can be found on YouTube btw) was even a thing???

So I legit went in blind reading the manga and let me tell you I was NOT expecting whatever it is that I got. Body possession horror wasn't on my list of things to expect but a win is a win (obsessed with the way this series handle itself and the situations it puts the character into)

The first series is a beautiful mess and I wouldn't have it any other way, I simply love love LOVE the way friendship is written between characters, especially Joey and yugi, these are THE bestest of buds to have ever bestie-ed. Like, legit one of the best well written friendship with hoe realistic if feels, at least to me. And yami offing off criminals in-between this otherwise lovely slice of life is just the cherry on top

The series isn't perfect and I am more than aware of that, and it definitely have those early manga tropes (not genre tropes, but more so writing tropes? I can't explain it very well but like. An example would be a character seeing something and saying it out loud so that the readers have an easier time to understand, or chapters having a small kinda recap section in between, etc etc? There is also parts where characters do more telling than showing too. But what's weirder is when the manga gets smart with you and show you more than it could ever tell, and it happens often enough sprinkled between those tropes that I'm legit just left being like "???" Like come on are you a smart written manga or not why are you dressed in a trench coat why is it one moment you're the most brilliant thing ever and the next you have yami repeat every sentence someone says in both his head AND voice. Like. This part drives me a tad bit insane because that means you simply had to look beyond the layers because it's definitely smart enough to have layers beneat hidden layers and I'm not even touching whatever weird thing yugi and yami have (legit can't even label it???) this series drives me insane in the best way possible)

Also yes yes yes yugi is so freaking endearing but also probably one if not the most character that simply drives me insane the more I look at him and try to dissect him (especially with how he feels about yami. Legit had hours of ranting about these two and I'm still nowhere near satisfied enough to shut up)

Divorcee, if you ever do reread it and if you ever join the fandom again and if you ever want someone to rant with about this series then please know that my doors are freaking missing and you can just skiddadle in and make yourself at home. In fact please do just that.

I'm still only at battle city arc and the story keeps going crazier. You will not regret reading this cause it's, like,,, okay I'm gonna get burnt for this but you said in the tags you're not sure if you feel like reading something good or something bad and like. I'm saying this in the best way possible but yugioh is both, it presents itself as both here and there, but through time it build itself brick by brick to be mostly good, but it's easy to not feel intimidated by it because it still has that,,, okay not bad exactly, I hate using that word, but it has that feeling of being a product of its time, which, quality wise, isn't as good as some of the stuff that comes out now, but the story and the way it deals with it's characters? Definitely up there. And the chemistry between characters is top notch in a way I can't even begin to articulate

I'm so normal about these characters and everyone in the fandom is, please come visit us we promise we will leave the doors open (we will shackle you to the ground and drag ya to the dungeon)
