Anyways imagine someone reincarnated into a demon in Frieren: Beyond Journeys End. Just. Cuz demons seem very longlived yes? But also they All seem to be united under the Demon kings banner. Species is completely, to a man, at war w the rest of the world.

Seems like a very unpleasant situation to be in methinks.

Very unfortunate to be living in such a situation, and very hard to keep living anyways perhaps.

Also, idk, I saw that one episode about how Demons have nothing to gain from suppressing their mana and… I immediately started thinking ‘OK. In what situation would a demon have to be in for there to be something to gain?’

Solution: being strong means survival more likely, but! unfortunately, also means you climb up the ranks of your military that’s fighting against the rest of the world, which you may not exactly want to be in a high position for!

After all, no matter how convenient/easy it may be to fake your death because demons don’t leave bodies, it’d become much harder if everyone were to recognize you on site because you became famous! Or if people sensed your mana as ‘demonic’ and hunted you down ( ´ ▽ ` )✌︎ *:･｡. .. …

Hey so I’ve been watching Frieren beyond journeys end, and

On one hand. I totally get that like, the “big bad” in Frieren’s world are the demons. Like yes yes ‘beasts in human skin’ ‘liars’ ‘beasts that learnt how to speak human language’, blah blah blah I get it. They’re bad and they don’t want to exist civilly and they just want the destruction of humankind, blah blah blah (-beingkind? Person…kind?… uh—) but man imagine being a demon, it just sounds like it sucks man idk?

Like, it’s literally a dog eat dog world for them. They’re like completely on the hierarchy of who is stronger (in magic?) and l from what I saw from that one episode on the demon that got taken in by a human village… like I’m sorry, but if the goal was to show them as irredeemable… all I got was that they were really bad at understanding human society, morals, and values, and that they were really not socialized well? Like even with the ambassador/infiltrator guys where—Demons are just giving me ‘really good at generally masking and dialogue options without actually understanding sociocultural rules’??— cuz of the whole ‘looks around room, take context clues to infer what might be a connecting empathetic/diplomatic response without actually knowing the subject matter it speaks on (what’s a father?)’and w the little girl it was ‘I wanted to live in Harmony, but you guys hate me so I will try to make amends, but wait you guys don’t want me to replace what I broke? Because the specific person that I killed was Special to you, for some reason and can’t be replaced? What is a family? what are emotional bonds?’

I’m like don’t get me wrong. I get that for the anime demons are like incorrigible beast monsters, and like none of them are good. But also, I can’t help but just think frieren you sound incredibly racist right now and it.. sure maybe Demons as like their current societal group is that constant war against …others, but like surely they’re not actually evil no good irredeemable? Like yeah, they might be psychopaths all down to the last man, but not everyone who is a psychopath in our society kills because they get taught early on that murder is bad and they get taught our views and morals, even if they don’t understand them instinctively so like …. like I’m just thinking idk.

TWST AU where Yuu seems to have accidentally time traveled back to the start of their first year at NRC, except they quickly switch to thinking they must be in some kind of alternate universe because everyone is being so nice and comparatively well-adjusted? Even Grim! Ace just shows them around the school grounds and Deuce arrives of his own volition to introduce himself, Jack shows up at Ramshackle house like I heard someone was staying here so I brought food, two minutes later Epel arrives with extra bedding from the Pomefiore dorms, Sebek is like hello if you have any troubles I will assist, Ortho gifts them a phone right away like welcome to school I took the liberty of adding me and my brother to your contacts, it's wild.

Anyway, turns out the other freshmen also just time traveled. Everyone has it figured out by the time Ace doesn't trigger Riddle's overblot (it's still impending but Ace is NOT doing the tart thing again), but for the first couple of days it's a comedy of misunderstandings, with each of them thinking they've somehow butterfly effected events into changing right out of the gate.

Now I’m sure this comparison has been made before- because I mean c’mon it’s gotta- but anytime I’m reading a Naruto fic and Obito’s ‘Tobi’ is really a Skull(khr) of all time.

Like, Tobi is Skull’s personality and I would love anyone more knowledgeable than me to point out any way that he isn’t. (AKA: convince me I’m wrong)

I’m surprised I’ve only ever seen(/remember) one crossover about it (and said fic was more reveal centred anyways, very little-to-no Tobi/Skull shenanigans)
