Do you ever realize just how little we actually know of what's going on in The Ego Story™? Like, literary-wise? Because like. We know that Chase (by all means, not a hero) is the protagonist. The PROTAGONIST. A depressed alcohol-drinking single dad who got evicted from his home and lost his family in a messy divorce. HE is our protagonist.
Other than that? Our only canonly-confirmed "conflicts" are:
Antisepticeye vs. Viewer (source: every Anti monologue ever)
Schneeplestein vs. Antisepticeye (source: KILL JSE)
Antisepticeye vs. "Jack" (source: SAY GOODBYE + Oct. 2016 + Detention series)
Chase vs. Self (source: Bro Average + TIE + CHASE)
Jameson vs. Antisepticeye, sorta (source: Silent Movie + JJJJ)
Honorable mention (NOT a conflict imo): Chase vs. Antisepticeye (source: Dark Silence), except not really because we didn't actually see Chase put up a fight
… that's it. 80% of them are someone-versus-Anti. All the rest? Things like Jackieboy Man vs. Anti? We've only ASSUMED those to be true. We have ZERO proof of a struggle between any other pairings of the canon egos.
Have we seen Marvin? Yes. I didn't forget about him. But has he shown his alliances to us? No. All we saw was him talking to "Jack" in the original Try To Fall Asleep video, almost two years ago now.
And and AND. We don't even know what these characters are in relation to each other, or what they even are in general. Like. Are they pieces of "Jack"? Individual people who all just happen to have the same face? Nobody knows.
This journey Seán's gonna take us all on? It's gonna be wild. It's gonna be absolutely bananas. We just gotta be patient because I'm sure the pressure on him to get it right and make something amazing out of these characters must be IMMENSE.
So like. Guys. Guys. My point being:
Absolutely NOTHING in comparison to what the journey into this universe has in store for us.
Doesn't that thought excite you?
