I hate when he says he had become "a caricature of himself." That's some bullshit he got from fansâ„¢ commenting on social media. What does it even mean, really? It means you just keep being who you are, but if you happen to be famous, the public will make a cartoon of you in their minds. (See that one South Park episode.) Or some asshole right-winger will make up a story that you said you would drive off a cliff if Trump wins and it gets spread around like gospel. Obviously Bono never said that.
It doesn't help that he has to sit down at Cannes with a slew of interviewers — this is just one of many; hence the speed-dating quip — and answer the same predictable questions over and over again.
Sigh.
The defense rests.
P.S. There's a little goodie in here for us Bedge people. Just in how he speaks about Edge.
He’s glowing, and you can feel it. 🎥 Bono: Stories Of Surrender - Cannes Film Festival, France, 2025.

Aw nothing, just Bono and Edge working out the tension from their first really big tour of the USA. Read it. You won't be sorry.
Yes, I will be collecting whatever magazine covers I run across as Bono does interviews. A very kind person has scanned and uploaded this excellent interview. It's pretty deep and there's no pushy crap about activism. Yay!
"You don’t even blink now, do you, or even look away."
It's Bono's 65th birthday, and how is that even possible? PJ has written a new prose poem called "A Fanatic Heart," and Kelly's painting is supposed to be that way.

We've done it again at achtoonbaby.com. Here's something read from me, and a stunning painting from Kelly!
How the fuck is he 65?
Happy birthday to him

Today, September 25, 2024, is the 48th birthday of U2. I hope everyone is ready to deliver an enormous number of birthday spanks.
