Rubbing his eyes and yawning, Shay stretched himself out, temporarily increasing the range of his sprawl with his long limbs. He was slow to sit up and scoot forward afterwards. His sleepy, placid expression showed no hint of urgency as his companion grew more and more upset.
“Meh… True.
I’m sure whatever happened was a simple mistake; I doubt anyone stole it.
Where do you usually set it down?”
His lack of urgency really caused her anxiety to spike. Perhaps she was worrying too much, over such a trivial object, yet it was not cheap to keep up the payment. How could she ever get him to understand her pain? Probably not. Shay never cared too much about what she babbled about.
“Listen-- imagine something of yours was missing. I need to find it.”
