Consuming places.

I remember the time, when my family and I went on a one week holiday to Rodrigues Island.

The first thing we did before the trip was to organize our days to visit each famous places of the island. We went to Roche Bon Dieu, Cavern Patate, River Banane, Anse Bouteille, ...ect. We planed each day so that we could go to those places that we could only see in images.

After the trip we went to the souvenir shop and bought a small coral sculpture in the shape of a House. The sculpture is still here today and every time we look at it, we all recall our good time over there, even after a decade.

When I look at it now, We went there to consume the places, the local food, and the overall experience of visiting a new place. Even the souvenir we bought was part of consumption. It acts like a token of memory for us. In a way, we were lead to consume what the trip offered which was great, but now I wish that we did a little bit more of exploring on our own.

The consumption of series.

Yesterday, I watched the second episode of the movie series, Black Mirror. Everybody I knew who watched it told me to give episode 2 a shot, and so I did.

One thing that I noticed strait away was that they always called it Black Mirror, when the actual title of the episode was Fifteen Million Merits. Sure the series name is Black Mirror, but it isn't the name of the episode they wanted me to watch.

I pointed it out and they rectified the mistake afterward but it was still black mirror to them. I guess the first name sticks to whole series.

Getting to know my travel expenses.

Having a car requires a lot of care and attention. Keeping it clean, doing the servicing after every kilometers advised, making sure everything is in check (Insurance), and fixing everything which starts to go bad.

There is one thing that cannot be fixed in a car and that is the kilometers you put in it. Ultimately, the car's depreciation is one thing that you cannot avoided no matter what.

We consume two things in a car. Its overall mechanism, and the fuel we put in it. This is the very definition of a liability as would accountants say. Old cars do go up in value if they get the title of vintage but the kilometers on the counter do play a major part on putting the last price.

My Morning Consumption.

Everyday, the first thing I do in the morning is to check my phone. Is there any new notifications? Did someone text me in the middle of the night? Is there anything new and interesting on the news page?

All of these questions are the first thing that pop up once I get the phone in my hands. Consuming new information, satisfying my brains' curiosity. This is the new type on consumption, get up and switch ON your phone, things are about to start.
