Casey would never get heated or angry with a student and he understood Gregory’s apprehension about his powers. It’s hard to find your special place in a place filled with nothing but special people. But there would be no yelling or scolding, only learning here. “I have the capabilities to protect who and what I need to protect.” Was all he said to address his embarrassed stammering. “But let me tell you, Gregory. You haven’t expanded your horizons far enough. There are aspects of it that you’ll reach and concur with. You can heal people when the time comes, take pain from others and release it onto your enemies. I assure you, if you open your mind you’ll see you have just as much, if not more freedom than I.”
Gregory listened carefully to every word. He was only filled with admiration for Professor Vanderbilt. It meant so much to hear such words of support from him. The road was going to be long but it was a relief to know someone was willing to walk it along with him. Gregory nodded. "Thank you sir, I appreciate that. I can only hope I will have improved sufficiently by the time we need it." His blue eyes glanced at the time and he realized they had spent quite a while talking. He'd barely see time go by during his classes and it seemed it was the same for regular discussions. "I won't take more of your time. Thank you, professor. I'll do better on the next assignment, I promise!"
