For those who don't know yet, I'm finally making my own fan comic about the world of Celes from TRC (about Ashura). It's going slowly, but I've finished the art that will most likely be the cover for one of the chapters.

i just LOVE a lot the way CLAMP do the covers to their chapters, so tried to make smth resembling it. just characters who met or could have met somewhere in this or another universe. sometimes with some vague phrase that could hint at smth.

hiii clamp fandom, here's a small snnounsment from me! i like the Celes arc of TRC, and finally i decided to try to draw a small comic based on it... it's planned to be but a prequel to all the events of TRC, and yeeeees it's abt Ashura mainly :) the hyperfixation was lasted so long i have now enough material for a small comic lolll, i'll try to fit my ideas/headcanons there~ so far, only one page is ready, so there is no text lines yet, but when at least a few pages are ready, i will post them with the text! the characters on the page: Kumara, Yama, Ashura

it's been a while since i've post here but here's me small progress of it! I made several pages of the beginnig which mean i'll be able to post them pretty much soon~ i need to make a cover now i guess.

here's some frames with the character's you'll see there in the beginning (besides Ashura ofc): Yama and Kumara.

Both of them are taken from TRC (since i loved the CLAMP's idea of reusing characters and decided to make the same thing here too cuz it's funny). Takashi Yamazaki (the Dragon Fly race announcer) and Kumara (Shurano/Sharano arc in TRC)

(I primarily base them on their TRC!versions)

also fun fact, found this my old fanart from 2024 and here's Kumara near king Ashura.... so yes, i've been thinking about this whole idea for a VERY LONG time...

another fanart super old and ugly but yes, this idea is also connected to all of this thing.. i know it's probably not so clear who is this and what's happening here, but that's for the good lol

"the Firebird"/"Жар-птица"

Ashura-ou, Fai and Yui. Storytelling time! 🫶🏻✨

Small explanation:

Жар-птица / Zhar-ptitsa (Firebird) is a magical creature from slavic fairy tales. Since Fai is slavic coded to me, i came up with this idea.. Firebird or her feather is an important and desired artifact in fairy tales. And it's a very typical trope for fairy tales where the protagonist finds a Firebird's feather and then setts off on a long journey, the main goal of which is to find and obtain the Firebird. The feather is a kind of harbinger of a journey full of trials.

I also have a vague feeling that as a child I read a fairy tale where the goal of the journey was the feather itself. But now I can't find anything about it, so maybe these are false memories lol .. I also think that in some fairy tales or maybe more modern works it was mentioned that a feather can grant a wish. But again, I can't recall where exactly this was, so nevermind T____T.

But anyway the whole this thing with travels and feathers is giving me Tsubasa (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

I love the concept of Fai hearing in his childhood a fairy tale that will vaguely rhyme with the future events in his life.

tbh i've came up with the idea and made the first sketches back in 2022! im glad that after years, my skill have improved enough so i'm finally able to draw this exactly the way i wanted.

i can't confirm whether what's in the picture is Ashura's dream while he was under the Fai's sleeping spell. or it's Taishaku-ten left his world and tried to find Ashura in other worlds! (personally, i like the second option better ahahah). After all, thanks to x/1999 we already have an example where characters from different Clamp manga crossed paths in a dream.
