So this blog started out as a slexie blog, but now it's more of a multi fandom blog about all the canon grey ships: Calzona, Slexie, Japril, Merder, Jolex and Owelia. Every post is tagged, so if you don't like a certain ship, you won't have to see their posts. This blog is set up as a secondary blog, so I can't follow back. Sorry :( I'm always open for questions!
Hey everyone!! I made the decision to make another account, so my greyâs blog could be my primary one. I am not deleting this blog, Iâm just not going to post anything on here anymore. My new URL is glances-and-stares (youâll recognize the theme and blog name). Iâm kind of sad that this will be my last post on here, but anyway thanks to all my amazing followers! (Hope to see you on my new blog soon?)
Omg I am so sorry I answered so late! I just don't check this account anymore; I changed it to @glances-and-stares :) I am really, really sorry! What did you want me to check? Xxx

This is part three and the last part of The Eye Of The Hurricane and Luckiest Girl On Earth. Hope you like it :)
It was perfect. It had to be. Everything had to be perfect. She looked at the table she had set for the twentieth time since she had gotten back from the meeting.
"I told you already that it was perfect, now go check on the food before it burns!"
"Stop, Richard! Everything has to be perfect!!"
"It will be! He will just be happy that you're going to have a baby, so just relax for a minute!âÂ
After the meeting, Richard had taken her out for coffee. Of course she had taken tea and Amelia had told him all about finding out about her pregnancy. He had told her how proud he was for her not freaking out, but she had explained it was all because of Lexie. "If it wasn't for her, I would've fainted and I could have brought severe damage to my children." He had then offered to help her with the preparations for dinner, which she gladly took because she had only one hour left to prepare everything. Before they had arrived at the loft though, he had dragged her in this toy store, where he had bought her two stuffed animals. She didn't want to accept it at first, said it was ridiculous that he was buying her this, but he insisted.Â
"Oh my god, the food!!" She ran towards the kitchen and checked on the pasta. It wasn't anything special; to Amelia's annoyance the grocery stores had allready closed when she realized there weren't any ingredients for a fancy meal, so they just had to do with spaghetti carbonara. Richard looked up at the clock above the kitchen door and finished folding the last napkin. "I need to go, Catherin is waiting for me and I think Owen will be here soon." He walked over to Amelia and kissed her cheek. "Good luck, not that you need it."
"Goodbye Richard, thanks for this afternoon and thanks for helping me."
"You're welcome. See you tomorrow at work." He walked out the door and waved goodbye before closing the door. Amelia lighted the candles and took the sauce from the stove. She checked over the table again and saw that there was indeed nothing missing. She quickly ran towards their bedroom to change into a dark blue cocktail dress, that she loved. She was fixing her make up, when se heard Owens keys ramble in the hallway. She put a hand on her stomach and smiled. THIS WAS IT.
"Amelia?" She walked into the living room and smiled at his confused facial expression while looking at the table with the white tablecloth and the candlesticks. She walked up to him and kissed him. Something she had been dying to do all day. Wrapping her arms around him, he put his hand on her hip as his other moved to her hair. She loved how it always seemed to end up there, caressing her dark locks of hair. She was the one to pull away and motioned towards the table, telling him to sit down. He did suspiciously sit down and as she walked back into the kitchen to grab the food, he asked.
"Amelia, what's going on?" Amelia walked back into the room with two plates of carbonara and answered mysteriously: "Nothing! I just wanted to make you dinner."Â
"Uhheuh?" said Owen skeptically, but he didn't ask about it until the end of the dinner. Amelia had sat through all the small talk about the hospital and their patients patiently but she couldn't wait to tell him the news. She was sitting on her hands so he wouldn't notice them shaking in excitement and got up only to grab desert, which were simple brownies and vanilla ice cream she found in the freezer. She remembered buying it a few weeks ago, but she had forgotten about it until she needed it that afternoon. Even though it was one of her favorite deserts, she barely managed to take a few bites, which of course Owen noticed.
"What's wrong?" He asked concerned. "Normally you drag me all around town to the places with the best brownies."
She gave up and put down her fork.
"There's nothing wrong. This is one of the few moments in my life that everything is perfect. I'm here with you, my husband, we're having a lovely dinner..."
"Yet you're not eating your favorite desert?" Amelia laughed and got up.
"I'm just anxious to give you something." He arched an eyebrow in curiosity and Amelia laughed again; he looked so silly when he did that. She took a deep breath and walked towards one of the cabinets near the tv. She didn't have a fancy box, so she just pulled out the red shoebox from her new shoes from about three weeks ago. She handed it to him and she almost danced from excitement to see his face.Â
"You bought me heels? Thanks I've been waiting for these since I was twenty-four." He said jokingly.Â
"Stop it! I'm trying to be all romantic and whole and stuff and you're ruining it." But she was still smiling and he started laughing. He opened the box and his smile fell. His face looked shocked when he saw what's inside; the two teddy bears Richard had bought and the picture of their two babies. As Amelia saw Owens face she got nervous and started rambling.
"I found out this morning, thatâs why I went home early. I'm sorry I didn't take you to the first ultrasound; I know you should've been there, but I had to know for sure that we were actually having a healthy baby and IÂ was so scared and I didn't want you to go through the same..." Her last words were cut off by her squeal, because he suddenly jumped up from his chair and picked Amelia up, twirling her around laughing. He put her down again and kissed her fiercely.
"We're going to have a baby?"
"Babies actually, twins." His eyes were sparkling and he kissed her again.Â
"I can't believe it."
"Well you better, because it's happening inside me right now." At this Owens eyes fell down on her stomach and he kneeled down.Â
"Hey there, you two!" And he kissed her belly button. She giggled at the tickling feeling and pulled him back up, because her lips were missing his. She still heard the rain raffling down on the roof of the loft and suddenly he pulled away and said: "Let's dance!âÂ
Amelia smiled at the father of her babies as he walked to the other side of the room to turn on the radio. As he walked back and gave her his hand, she put her hand on his shoulder and sighed happily as she nuzzled her head in the crook of his neck. She listened to his heartbeat, the music and the sound of the raindrops.Â
She was jumping up and down in her rain boots on the grass, but Liz said she was doing it wrong. "You have to sway to the music like this. Dumdumdumdumdudududum." And she swayed along every rhythm.
She caught her breath and pulled away from Owen as he looked at her confused. But she only ran towards the radio and pulled out an old music CD from the Beatles.
"I just remembered a song that I used to dance on with my sisters." She slid in the disk and a few minutes later the tunes of "I'll follow the sun" came crashing out the speakers. She wanted to turn around and walk back to Owen, but he was already standing behind her and slid his arms around her body so his hands were resting on her stomach. Swaying slowly on the rhythm they danced until they lost track of time.
One day, you'll lookâš
To see I've goneâš
But tomorrow may rain,
soâš I'll follow the sunâš
One day, you'll knowâšI was the oneâš
But tomorrow may rain,
soâš I'll follow the sunâš
And now the time has come
and so, my love, I must goâš
And though I lose a friendâš
In the end you will knowâš
Oh-oh-ohâš
One day, you'll findâš
That I have goneâš
But tomorrow may rain,
so âšI'll follow the sunâšâš
And now the time has comeâš
And so, my love, I must goâš
And though I lose a friendâš
In the end you will knowâš
Oh-oh-ohâš
One day, you'll findâš
That I have goneâš
But tomorrow may rain,
so âšI'll follow the sun
This is part two of The Eye Of The Hurricane and part three will follow later tonight. Hope you like it!
She still couldn't believe it. She was pregnant. Not JUST pregnant. But pregnant of TWO HEALTHY babies.
Normally she would've waited at the hospital until Owen had finished his work too and they would drive to the one room apartment they had bought when they got engaged, but now she had decided to leave work early because she couldn't focus anyway. She had thanked Lexie for her offer of coming home with her, but declined it; she wanted to be alone for a while.Â
She loved having someone to talk to. She didn't have a lot of people who knew everything about her and it felt so good just letting it all out and having a friend, a real friend, who she could tell everything that was going on with her. She had Charlotte in LA, but even with Charlie she felt like if she told her too much, she would make her worry too much. And Charlie of course had her own problems; taking care of three four year old girls, a teenage boy and a man child. She liked that she had someone next to her, who could help her with her pregnancy and her daily struggles. This new relationship with Lexie was new and she didn't know exactly what it was yet and if Lexie wanted to be there to help the wreck that she was, but she trusted Lexie and it was nice having someone to trust.Â
After she caught herself staring at her own belly and thinking of the picture she had safely stored in her inside pocket for the fifth time that afternoon, she decided she needed a break and had to go home. It was raining, of course, as she walked outside to her car. Halfway through she changed her mind and headed for the bus stop: if she would take the car, then Owen wouldn't be able to get home without her. So she waited under the little bus sign and looked at the raindrops hitting the stones of the pavement. It was ironic; every time something bad happened or she was unhappy, the sun would shine: when she went into rehab, when she found out about her anencephalic son, when Derek had been hit by a truck,... But every time she was happy, it would rain. It was raining today, it rained the day of their wedding, it rained when Owen proposed to her, even parts of their honeymoon it rained. And of course, (how could she forget?) there was an earthquake the day of her second kiss with Owen. Actually it was kind of logical; she was a lot happier here in Seattle than in LA. It was like she could draw a line in her life, right where she moved here. Itâs when she got her new, amazing job in an amazing hospital, itâs when she got to spend so much time with her nieces and nephew, itâs where she got new friends who were almost just as messed up as she was and itâs where she fell in love. Since she moved to the city full of rain, her life started moving upwards.
After fifteen minutes, the bus pulled up and she got inside. There weren't many other people in the vehicle, only an old lady with some groceries, a couple of teenagers who seemed like they were about to go shopping for a Halloween costume and a man with his two little kids. Amelia sat down on one of the old seats and rested her hand on her own two children again. She couldn't help but imagine her own two kids running around the house with Owen and talking about their friends at dinner and going to visit their uncle and aunt and three cousins.Â
"Are you okay?" Suddenly she saw the little girl of the two children standing in front of her. She had big blue eyes and long straight red hair. Amelia looked in surprise at what the girl could mean.
"Yes, honey, I'm fine. I'm better than fine actually." And Amelia smiled, because she actually meant it. There had been times she had told people the exact same thing, to hide how she was really feeling inside. To not seem too broken. But yet ever since she had met Owen, she started to get fine, okay and even happy. She loved him, that was for sure, and she knew she had never felt such passion for anyone. The beginning of their relationship was hard, painful, yet she had still been more than okay. The worst part had been when they were avoiding each other after they just broke up; that's when she started to say I'm fine again, to hide what she really felt. After Derek's accident it only got worse. But at the wedding of Alex and Jo and when they had danced together, she had known she loved him and that she didn't want to let him go even if he thought they were a plane crash. But when she looked into his eyes, she had seen the love he felt for her and that's when the days started getting brighter and brighter with every step she took.
"Then why are you crying?" when she felt the wetness underneath her eyelashes and running down her cheek, she realized the girl was right.Â
"I didn't even know I was." She wiped them away and smiled at the red haired little cupcake. "But don't worry; there's no reason for me to cry except that today, for once in my entire life, I feel like the luckiest girl on earth." She remembered the last time she had thought this; at their wedding, but it had been nothing compared to this. The father called the girl back and Amelia noticed it was time to get off the bus.Â
As she walked down the wet sidewalk, she thought back about what she had said to the little girl. She felt like dancing. Dancing through the rain like she used to do with Liz when she was seven. She remembered sitting bored at home with her three older sisters: their mother had to drive Derek and Mark to their basketball practice and it was raining. Not that the raining was the reason they didn't go outside, it was that their mom had forbidden them to. But Liz had just taken her hand while she had been drawing with her crayons and asked her if she wanted to dance in the rain. Nancy of course, had been against it, because she didn't want mom to get angry. But Kathleen had said their mother would never know or something, because she remembered standing outside while the rain was falling down on her face. The smell of wet grass filled the air and she loved it all. She remembered some kind of old tunes playing, she didn't remember what song it was, but it was something about the sun coming or whatever. She remembered thinking it was silly that Liz had chosen that song but she loved it anyways. After ten minutes she had gotten cold, because she wasn't wearing her raincoat, but she didn't want to go inside because she didn't want to miss out on the fun. Her red rain boots squeezed in the muddy grass and she remembered worrying that her mom would notice the mud splashes on her trousers. Two days later she had been sick.Â
She reached the door to their apartment building and climbed the stairs to the loft on the sixth floor. As she closed the door and hung up her jacket, she took it of the hook again and turned around, walking back out of the front door.
Fifteen minutes later, she was standing on a stand in one of her meetings. She smiled at all the strange and familiar faces around her, something she did a lot the last year, and started to talk.
"Today I am the luckiest girl on earth. I didn't think I ever would be able to say this, but today I am. I thought after my dad died and I started to do drugs and I even died for three minutes, I would never be the luckiest girl in the county, let alone the earth. But now I realize that no one is really the luckiest girl. Ok maybe statistically there must be someone out there with the best luck and the happiest life, but I'm sure that person doesn't actually feel that way. But I realized today that you aren't supposed to look at it in a lifetime, you should overview it day by day. Today I feel like the luckiest girl on earth, maybe tomorrow as well and day after that. But after a few days something will happen that clouds that happiness, like a patient dies or a great aunt or they don't have your favorite candy bar in the vending machine anymore. But today I feel like the luckiest girl on earth and if you think like that, take it day by day instead of seeing all the horrible things that happened in your life, you see the good things that happened only that day. Trust me it will make it a lot easier to see that there are actually more good days in your life than bad ones. And today, I'm 2201 days sober, I've been with the guy I love for almost two years and we've been married for three months and today I found out something I didn't dare believe possible. I found out I was pregnant again. I'm pregnant of TWO HEALTHY babies. And I'm more than fine; I'm the luckiest girl on earth." Again, she wiped a tear from the corner of her eye and when she looked at the back of the room, she saw Richard watching her with a proud grin on his face and she smiled.Â
So this is it: the AU one-shot about Amelia finding out sheâs pregnant of the twins. I loved writing this sooooo much! I miss slexie so hard and while I was writing this I had the heart shattering thought that Lexie never got to wear dark blue scrubs and I almost started crying.Â
She had known something was wrong after she kept puking two days in a row, she had also noticed she was late, but she didnât dare think about what it could mean. She leaned against the wall close to the lab, clutching the sealed envelope she didnât dare to open. She closed her eyes and just stood there for a long time, until she heard a voice behind her.
âAmelia? What are you doing?â She looked up to see little Grey standing in front of her. She straightened up and wiped her hair out of her face.
âJust came to get some labs for a patient. Arenât you supposed to be in the ER with that head trauma I assigned you on?â Questions. Questions are the best distraction. She saw Lexie looking nervous at the desk clerk who handed out the results. Her long dark curly hear nearly disappearing in the dark blue of her scrubs.
âOh I was, but it didnât turn out to be as bad as suspected.â She looked back at Amelia and stars sparkled in her eyes. âOk Iâm not supposed to tell you this yet, especially since I donât really know for sure, but⊠I think Iâm pregnant!âÂ
Lexie looked so exited and happy and even though her nerves were killing her, she had to smile at the happiness of the young woman. Suddenly she felt jealous again, not as jealous as with Addie and Charlotte, but pretty jealous; it was all so easy for them, they could just have healthy babies and donât have to worry about that their baby might die, because they never had that experience. She realized she had to say something, but then the nurse called Lexie. She jumped up and ran to grab the piece of paper that could make her life a little better. She thanked the nurse and walked back to Amelia, ripping open the envelope. Ameliaâs hand started shaking even more; she didnât want to open her own. A huge grin crept on Lexieâs face and she looked like she was ready to hug Amelia.
âI was right; Iâm pregnant.â Amelia smiled again, but actually she felt numb inside.
âCongratulations! But Iâm sorry, I rally have to check these lab results now.â She held up her envelope and hoped Lexie wouldnât ask whom they were from.
âOh of course, I didnât want to interrupt your work. Iâll just wait here, so we can go check on Miss Reynoldsâs rare tumor.â Amelia wanted to find an excuse to make Lexie go without her, but she was too nervous to even think. She looked up at Lexie, who in her daze of happiness didnât notice her anxious eyes, and ripped open her envelope. She scanned through the letter until she saw the one word she both feared and got hopeful about: POSITIVE. Lexie finally caught up and noticed something was wrong as she saw Ameliaâs wide eyes and quivering lip.
âAmelia?â Amelia just did the one thing she knew how to do; she ran. Itâs weird; even if you stop running from your fears for two years, itâs still easy to recall how to do it. Itâs like riding a bike, really, or an addiction. This canât be happening, not again. What if this time I wonât be able to handle it? What if I will ruin everything I have with Owen? Owen! I canât let him go through the same pain as me! I canât let him loose another child! She ran through the halls of the hospital, not caring about the weird looks and annoyed stares of nurses, not knowing what to do or where to go. Her heart was racing and she could hear her pulse under her ear. The world started to spin, but she ran away from the dizziness too. What if he decides that he doesnât want to be with the broken girl anymore? Who could blame him? I sure canât. I canât blame him for not wanting to take another ride in the hurricane. I canât, I wonât ruin his life! In the end, she found herself in front of  the last place she thought she would end up and the last place she wanted to be right now; Owenâs office. She looked at the letters on the door, spelling out his name, and tried to calm herself down. But every time she tried to talk her heart into stop pumping blood through her body so fast, because it was bad for the baby, she freaked out again. Tears welled up in her eyes. What if this time something happens to my baby, because I was a bad mother and freaked out. But then again, he/she probably already has no lungs or something, because Iâm just that much of a messed up person. She heard Lexie running towards her, out of breath and worried.
âAmelia, whatâs going on? Is something wrong with the patient? Was it a friend of yours?â Now she felt ten times worse: she wasnât only risking her own child anymore, now she was also risking Mark and Lexieâs baby by worrying her and making her run through the hospital. Without saying a word, she ran away from his door as tears started to stream down her face. This time she heard immediately that Lexie was following, so she stopped and looked around. âSupply Closetâ she saw on one of the doors and she stormed inside. Lexie followed closely behind her and locked the door. She turned around to Amelia, who had her arms wrapped around her and was breathing heavily.
âAmelia, Calm down. Whatever happened, you have to calm down.â Amelia took a deep breath and tried speaking. Her voice was shaking and soft, ⊠broken, but it was audible.
âI-Iâm sorry. I didnât want to ruin this day for you; you should be happy. I justâŠâ
Lexie held up her hand reassuringly, her dark hair bouncing around her head, which she shook. âYou donât have to tell me whatâs wrong. I can see how much it upset you. If you donât want to talk thatâs fine.â
âNo.â Answered Amelia. She was still clutching her arms around her slim torso and she was still holding her blood tests in her right hand. âI need help.â
âOk, then you can count on me.â
âI-Iâm pregnant.â
Understanding flashed through Lexieâs brown eyes; the labs were, of course, hers, but she still didnât understand why it upset her so much.
âWhy are you so upset?â She asked carefully. âAre you scared how Owen will react? Because I know he always wanted kids. Or⊠â Lexie knew that it wasnât a secret that Owen loved children and she was certain Amelia knew that, so this seemed like a more likely option. âdonât you want children?â She didnât know much about Amelia, really. She knew what Derek and Mark had told her and what you get to know when that other person is your boss and colleague. Amelia heavily shook her head no.
âI-I m-mean, Yes I do want a baby, I-Iâm just scared.â
Lexie finally understood and smiled. She walked over to Amelia and put an arm around her, helping her sit down on the ground.
âThereâs nothing to be scare of. I know that itâs all scary to have a human growing inside of you, but actually itâs the most amazing feeling in the world. Think about the amazing future your child will have! Birthdays, Christmas, vacations⊠But I understand it can be scary to be pregnant, especially the first time.â
It took a few minutes for Amelia to reply, tears were still running down her face, but her breathing had slowed a bit.
âWho in Seattle know about this?â Lexie asked, while putting an arm around Ameliaâs shaking shoulders.
âOnly Owen. A-and Richard, from meetings.â They sat there for half an hour until Amelia was completely calmed down. Lexie stood up first and held out her hand for Amelia to take it.
âLetâs go, weâre going to have an ultrasound.â
âLex, I-I canât.â
âAmelia, you have to know! Thereâs probably nothing wrong with he or she. And no matter what happens, youâll always have me. Iâll help you through this.â
Amelia finally got up and they walked to the door together. They were halfway to the OB wing, when Lexie stopped Amelia.
âShouldnât we tell Mark and Owen first?â
âNO!â She let out. âI mean, you should. But I just donât want to make him hopeful just to find out our baby is going to die. I donât want to see him hurt or go through the same thing I did.â
Lexie looked at her new friend before hugging her.
âYouâre the bravest person I know. Iâll come with you and make an appointment for myself for next week.â
Amelia smiled, but butterflies welled up in her stomach and her hands started shaking again. She started biting her lip as they reached the hallway with the examination rooms and she tapped her foot as they waited for the OBGYN. Amelia had specially requested for someone she didnât know, because she didnât want it to be like last time at all. Lexie went with her in the examination room on Ameliaâs request and she held her hand to stop them from shaking. The OB greeted them as they walked in and asked the routine questions, before she finally did the ultrasound. The gel was cold, but she didnât feel it because her heart was racing in her chest. Lexie and Amelia both held their breath as the OB showed them the monitor. Amelia let out a quivering breath when she saw the little shape that was her baby. When she didnât see any concern on the doctors face, she smiled in relieve and a fresh tear ran down her cheek. Suddenly the doctor looked surprised and Amelia felt worry creep through her whole body again.
âWhatâs wrong? Just tell me!â
âThere are two heartbeats.â Ameliaâs eyes went wide and she shot up, but Lexie just smiled happily.
âPlease donât say the baby has two hearts or something.â The OB laughed.
âNo, no; youâre expecting twins. Congratulations!â Amelia wasnât even embarrassed that her worrying had clouded her judgment; she was so relieved. She laid back in the bed and finally started to relax.
âSo Iâm having healthy twins? Two healthy babies?â
âYes. Weâll make a new appointment in about a week for a new ultrasound and so we can talk about prenatal vitamins. Have a nice day.â The doctor gave Amelia the picture of her two precious twins and walked out. As soon as she had left, Amelia burst into tears, clutching the picture against her chest. She couldnât believe it; Iâm going to have a real family. Iâm going to have twins with Owen, the man I love with all my heart.
âSee, I told you everything would be OK.â Lexie wrapped her arms around Ameliaâs shaking body. âNow we can talk about telling Mark and Owen.â Amelia pulled back and smiled, wiping the tears from her face.
âThank you for being here Lexie. You were right; being pregnant is the most amazing feeling in the world. Especially when you know everything will be okay.â
âWhen did you find out? I mean, Sorry itâs not my place to ask.â Lexie asked uncomfortably, looking down at the floor.
âOne week after I found out I was pregnant. I had one week of being happy that I was going to be a mom, and even then, I was still worrying, because I didnât do an ultrasound. And donât worry about it not being your place to ask; I could really use a friend I can tell everything to in Seattle and who knows everything about me. â Lexie smiled and grabbed Ameliaâs hand, squeezing it lightly.
âLetâs go. We both need to prepare a romantic dinner tonight.
For everyone whoâs interested:Â I finished another one-shot from my AU; Amelia finds out sheâs pregnant from the twins. I still need to type it out on my laptop, so I will probably upload it tomorrow.
Hi. I'm just wondering if there will be a new chapter of "I'm saying you could have a husband"? I'm dying to know what happens next. :D
There sure will be a next chapter! I just didn't get to it yet, but it's definitely on my list for the vacation! I'm sorry, I know I said I would update every week. I'm really happy you like it though, so thank you! X
I think it would indeed be interesting to see them locked up in a room together for a couple of hours...just staring at each other... Or trying not to... even though there are other people in the room...
This got a little long, but I didnât want to split it up either. Itâs the last day of the Owelia week, so I worked hard to get something done. If you want me to write more about this universe, you can ask me. I canât promise you Iâll answer them soon, because Iâll be really busy the next three weeks, but after that my summer begins and Iâll be free to write as much as I want!
Iâm sorry for all the unanswered asks in my box, but I think I write better if I come up with the idea myself, because I can feel the story more. I can always find inspiration in them though, so thank you!
Owelia Week: Day 7
Theme: AU
Type: FanFiction  Â
âGood morning, beautiful.â She felt strong arms wrap around her waist and someone kissed her in her neck. She left the batter she was mixing for what it was and turned around so her lips could find his. His arms were still around her waist and her hands were stroking his face. He pulled back in surprise and stroked a finger across his face on the same spot she had just done.
âDid you just spread batter on my face?â She laughed as he looked down at his finger full of a yellow substance. âOh youâre going to regret this.â
She tried to run away, but he grabbed her arm and turned her back around, so he could kiss her again. She melted into the kiss, thinking he had forgiven her, but little did she know that he was scooping a handful of batter out of the bowl. She ducked her head when she felt Owenâs hand full of wet stuff on her face, but it was too late. She wanted too scream in protest but she smiled when she heard his beautiful laugh. It ran through the big white kitchen and the rest of the house and it made her body shake with excitement. During the dough fight, she had backed a few steps away from him, but she crossed the distance and kissed him again, pressing her whole body against his. She loved his laugh; she loved him. He deepened the kiss and loved how her natural taste was mixed with the taste of fresh batter. Suddenly a wail ran through the house and both Amelia and Owen looked in the direction of the stairs. Amelia placed her forehead against his and asked him: âCan you get Ruby before she wakes up her siblings, while I finish breakfast?â
Owenâs response was a quick kiss before he headed up the stairs. He reached the door to the nursery and opened it. Ruby was standing up in her crib and immediately stopped crying when she saw her daddy. He quickly walked over to the crib and took the little girl in his arms. She was only fourteen months old, but she already looked exactly like Amelia. She had dark curls and blue eyes and she could be really stubborn if she wants to. He still couldnât believe that this beautiful daughter was his.
âHey baby girl, are you excited for the twinâs birthday?â Ruby nodded and wrapped her little arms around her fatherâs neck. Owen took her to the dresser and grabbed the dress Amelia had chosen the day before; it was white and had big red flowers on it. While he dressed Ruby, she spluttered happily as if she was in her own world. When Owen wanted to give her two pigtails, she protested, so he just ran a brush through her hair and took her downstairs. Â When they passed a door, which said âDanielâ, they heard little noises from inside, so Owen walked into the room of the two years and nine months old.
âHey kid, are you ready to get dressed?â Daniel, who had been playing with his cars jumped up and ran to hug Owenâs legs.
âThere was a monster in my closet, but I didnât get scared and played with my cars, just like mommy told me to. She said that monsters couldnât hurt happy children.â Owen smiled; he loved how good Amelia was with their kids.
âYou did? Wow, that was really brave of you.â He picked Daniel up with his free hand and kissed his head. Carefully placing Ruby on the ground so he could help Daniel get dressed, he gave her one of her favourite stuffed animals to play with. When both children were dressed, he picked Ruby up and gave Daniel a hand, so they could walk down the stairs. Daniel Immediately ran to his mother to tell her about how brave he had been and Amelia picked him up laughing proudly. She was now baking the pancakes with Daniel on her hip, who just like Ruby looked exactly like his mother. Owen sat Ruby down in her high chair and grabbed her cup with water. Amelia placed the finished pancakes in the middle of the round table and kissed her daughterâs forehead.
âGood morning, baby.â She placed Daniel in his chair and gave him a pancake.
âNo!â Amelia looked up at Ruby confused.
âNo?â
âNo baby!â Her stubborn little face looked so much like Ameliaâs; Owen just had to smile.
âOh, I get it. So you donât want your special panda napkins anymore?â Ruby seemed to think this over before shaking her head.
âOr your pink ballerina socks?â Again she thought this over before stubbornly shaking ânoâ. Amelia laughed at her mini-me and looked at Owen, who shrugged: âItâs your daughter.â
Amelia gave him a playful shove before asking Daniel.
âDo you want to help us wake the twins on their special day?â
He eagerly nodded his head and took Ameliaâs hand, which helped him get of his chair. Even though Daniel looked more like Amelia, his traits were more like Owen. She grabbed Owenâs hand in her free one and they started walking towards the stairs.
âMe too!â They heard and looked around at the little girl, with now red cheeks of anger.
âWhatâs wrong?â Amelia asked innocently. Daniel looked confused from his baby sister to his mommy and Owen picked him up and said to him: âNow get used to this, because when your sisters are going to be teenagers, this will probably get worse.â
Amelia ignored the comment and kept looking at her girl, trying hard not to smile.
âGo too. Twins!â
âI thought you werenât a baby anymore? Doesnât that mean you can get out of that chair alone.â Ruby shook her head teary eyed, but Amelia was already moving towards her to pick her up.
âIâm sowry.â Amelia held the little girl and kissed her still warm cheek.
âYouâll always be my baby girl.âÂ
Ruby threw her arms around Ameliaâs neck and together with Owen and Daniel they walked up the stairs. They reached a door at the end of the hall and they all, except little Ruby, sang âHappy Birthdayâ as they walked into the room. There were two beds inside and in each bed lay a five year old who turned around and sat up when their whole family burst in. One was a girl with reddish brown hair and green eyes, and one was a boy with red hair like his fatherâs. They each had a separate room, but they always insisted on sleeping together.
âGood morning.â Chirped Amelia as she hugged both her children and so did Owen. Daniel jumped on the bed of his sister, who hugged him tightly.
Fifteen minutes later, Hailey and Charlie walked fully dressed down the stairs and sat down with their family for breakfast.
âMommy, when does May come?â Asked Hailey, eager to see her best friend, who also turned five today.
âShe and her family arrive at noon to help get everything set up for when the rest of the family arrives.
âAnd Jake?â asked Charlie and Owen, who was feeding Daniel, answered.
âJakeâs mommy and daddy have to work first, so heâll only make it by three.â Charlie looked really disappointed by this so Owen added: âIâm sorry, bud. But Oliverâs mommy is free and so is his daddy, so heâll be able to come and so are uncle Derek and Auntie MeredithâŠâ
âAnd auntie Maggie?â asked Daniel hopeful.
âGrannie?â Even little Ruby had someone she wanted to see most. Amelia laughed.
âDonât worry, our whole 35 member family will be there.â
âYes,â confirmed Owen,â And next week, weâre going to visit auntie Addie and Auntie Charlotte in LA.â They finished breakfast with some small talk, until Amelia said.
âWoow, Iâm surprised.â
âWhat mommy?â asked Hailey and Owen looked amused.
âYou havenât asked for your presents yet.â Haileyâs eyes lit up in excitement and Charlie chirped, âWhat is it? What is it?â Owen chuckled and got up. He walked around the Kitchen Island and reached for one of the cabinets. On the highest shelve stood three colourfully wrapped boxes; one for Hailey, one for Charlie and one for May. Owen grabbed the ones for his own two children and handed it to them. The two children immediately attacked the boxes like piranhas and there fell two things out of each one. In Haileyâs box was a necklace with a key on it and a photo album that had to be opened with the key. Out of Charlieâs box fell two CDâs. The five year olds looked excited, but also like they had no idea what to do with it and Amelia got excited about how they would react to the real thing. Hailey got up first and hugged Amelia while saying âthank youâ. Â Amelia only laughed.
âYou donât think this is all, do you?â she asked mysteriously. At the utter confusion of the children, she took their hands and led them to the living room. Owen followed with Ruby and Daniel. He placed the two youngest on the ground and wrapped an arm around Amelia as the happy screams of the twins filled the room. On the coffee table stood a radio and a Polaroid camera.
âNow youâll have to be careful with it, because we actually shouldnât have given you this at the age of five.â Amelia smiled and Owen kissed her under her earlobe.
âYou shouldnât spoil them like this.â Amelia turned around to look at Owen sceptically. âOwen Hunt, donât act like Iâm the one whoâs idea this was!â Owen looked sheepishly and rephrased his sentence. âOkay, WE shouldnât spoil them like this.â And he kissed her again, but this time on her lips.
They started decorating the yard with little flags and balloons. Amelia and Owen didnât allow the twins to help, because it was their birthday, but they insisted. Owen had placed Ruby and Daniel outside in the sandpit, so they could be easily seen. At noon, the doorbell rang and Hailey immediately jumped up to open the door.
âHello auntie Lexie, Hello uncle Mark.â She smiled as she saw them standing in the doorstep.
âHey kiddo, happy birthday!â said Mark as Lexie bowed down to hug her niece. Amelia walked towards the door and when Hailey saw her mommy could take over, she ran off with May, the youngest of Mark and Lexieâs three daughters.
âHey Lexie!â Amelia hugged Lexie, her best friend and turned towards the man who sheâd always known as her brother and she hugged him too. She then kissed the eldest daughter of 9 years, April and the 7 years old, June. Their real names were Susan April, Aria June and Carolyn May, but everyone called them by their middle names. She and Lexie had gotten to know each other better when Amelia had come back to Seattle for good, 9 years ago. Amelia had still been thankful for her help with Erica and she wasnât surprised in the least that Lexie now was a neuro attending in the hospital. When Amelia had found out she was pregnant and had been scared out of her mind, Lexie had helped her. Through their pregnancies they had grown really close and when Mark and Owen both forbade them to work, they sat in the cough together watching movies and eating their cravings away. It had been easier on Lexie, because she had been pregnant for the third time and she really helped Amelia with her nerves. It was really different to be pregnant of a child you know is healthy and to not be sad all the time because your baby will die. This time her baby, scrap that, babies had a future and she had someone to share that future with. In the end they had given birth at the same day and their children were practically growing up together. They walked to the back yard and Mark and Owen started setting up the BBQ, while Lexie and Amelia sat up the chairs and chatted about their surgeries. The four girls were all dancing around the yard in their beautiful dresses and Charlie was playing with Daniel and Ruby.
An hour and a half later, everyone was there; Meredith, Derek and their three children, April and Jackson with their son Noah, Maggie and her husband Walter with their son Riley, Callie and Arizona with Sofia and their adoptive daughter Ella and Henry and Teddy with their son Oliver and daughter Maya. They all set together outside and talked about the hospital and their kids. Amelia felt so happy while she was holding on to her little girl and playing with her hair. Her feet lay in Owenâs lap and all her friends and family were around her. She had never thought she could have this.
âHowâs Maya doing?â asked Maggie to her friend and colleague Teddy, who was sitting in Henryâs lap. One year ago they had diagnosed Maya with diabetes and Henry had been devastated. Luckily, Teddy had been there to tell him everything would be okay and that they would get though this, like they had gotten through his own surgeries.
âSheâs doing fine. Itâs not as bad as with me, so she just has to take her insulin and watch her blood sugar.â Teddy kissed him to make him feel better and the topic shifted to Baileyâs last basketball game.
âMom, look what Oliver found!â Everyone looked up at June and Oliver who showed them a green caterpillar.
âYou should build a home for it.â Offered Maggie, who was sitting in the grass while playing with Daniel and Riley. Juneâs face lit up and she ran away with Oliver to Ellis and Charlie. April sat next to Jackson and was clutching onto Noah, who tried to wriggle free to play with Oliver. April finally let him go, but kept watching his every move. Three oâclock came and the bell rang again causing Charlie to jump up and run towards the door while his mom opened it. To his disappointment it was only his grandmother.
âMom! Glad you could make it!â Amelia hugged her mother and took her outside. Immediately all her grandchildren plus April, May and June, who also saw her as a grandmother ran towards her to hug her. Derek, Mark, Meredith, Owen and Lexie all stood up to kiss and hug her as well and everyone else gave her a hand. At four oâclock the bell rang again and this time Owen got up to welcome Alex and Jo with their three children Casper, Jake and Mia.
âSorry, weâre late, but there was a kid who had been hit by a car in the ER that needed surgery.â
âDonât worry, we all understand here. But you little guy,â Owen bowed down so he was at the same level as Jake, who looked afraid that he had done something wrong, âyou better go find Charlie because heâs waiting for you.â Relieved that he didnât do anything bad, he ran away to find his best friend and Owen took his parents to the rest of the group. When the night fell, Evelyn and John were able to make it and they all sat there like one big family; Ellis in Derekâs lap, Zola sitting next to Sofia who sat next to Mark. Mark had June in his lap and sat next to Lexie who held his hand and had her head on his shoulder. April held Noah, Jo sat next to Alex with 3yo Mia in his lap. Carolyn held her youngest granddaughter Ruby, Evelyn had Daniel, Jake and Oliver sat next to each other on the ground. Ella sat in Arizonaâs lap and had placed her head in Callieâs lap, while she talked to little April who was sitting on the ground besides her. Maya had taken Teddyâs place in Henryâs lap and Bailey and Casper were sitting next to Maggie, Walter and Riley. Jackson handed Meredith a camera and she aimed it at Hailey, Charlie and May, who were standing in the middle of the circle. When Owen and Amelia walked out with a giant cake and huge smiles on their faces, the three blew out the candles; everything was how it was supposed to be.
So this was it, I hope you like it. Anyway itâs sad the Owelia week is over, but please keep writing, drawing, making gifs, playing sims, making videoâs and what not, because we all need fanfiction and other happy, beautiful, amazing Owelia in our lives!
Everything was how it was supposed to be: preview
SOOO, Iâve been writing my AU fic all day (yes, I have no life. Please donât rub it in) and it has gotten quite complicated. So here is something to make it easier:
Merder: Derek didnât die, everything else is normal.
- Zola Grey 13yo
- Derek Bailey  9yo
- Ellis 7yo
Henry + Teddy (donât know the ship name): Henry had to go through a year full of surgeries, but they got it under control and they now have two children. (Letâs just pretend like Iâm a doctor and that von Hippel-Lindau disease isnât hereditary)Â
- Maya 9yo
- Oliver 6yo
Slexie: Were in the plane crash, but didnât die. Half a year later they got married. They decided to wait until Lexie finished her residency to start trying for kids. In September of her first year as Derekâs fellow, she found out she was pregnant and since then they couldnât wait for April, because that was the due date. They were so excited for April to come, so they decided to make April her middle name. They kept this habit for their two other daughters as well. They named their oldest daughter like Lexieâs mother and their youngest like the woman who raised Mark.
- Susan April 9yo
- Aria June 7yo
- Carolyn May 5yo
Calzona: Everything went like it happened in the series. After Ellis was born they had a common patient which they both got attached to and they grew closer together. The patient died during childbirth and had no partner since he died in a crash, so they decided to move back in together and take care of the little girl they called after her mother. A half year later they got romantically involved again and two years later they re-married.
- Sofie Robbin 13yo
- Ella Grace 7yo
Japril: Because Derek didnât die, April didnât go to Iraq. She didnât want another child and even though Jackson still wanted a family, he stuck by her. A few years passed and April eventually started thinking of having a child again.
- Noah Samuel 4 yo
Jolex: After Derek came back from DC, Arizona moved in in an apartment. Alex proposed a few weeks later and they got married after five months of engagement. A few weeks after they got married Jo found out she was two months pregnant, so their first son was born seven months after their wedding.
- Casper 7yo
- Jake 5yo
- Mia 4yo
Maggie + Walter: Three years after Derek came back, Maggie got to know a new guy named Walter. They got engaged after being together for two years and got married shortly after.
- Riley 2yo
Owelia: After they broke up, they kept avoiding each other. But at the wedding of Alex and Jo, they ended up dancing together and they realised they loved each other. A half year later, Owen proposed and they got married after another year. A few months later she realised she was pregnant and was terrified. They called their oldest daughter like the girl Amelia got to know in rehab, because of how she helped Amelia and after Owenâs mother. Their eldest son was named after Charlotte and Derek. Danielâs middle name comes from Ryan Kerrigan. They named their youngest daughter after the girl who started their relationship and after Lexie.
- Hailey Evelyn 5yo
- Charlie Christopher 5yo
- Daniel Ryan 2yo
- Ruby Alexandra 1yo
Christina still left to Switzerland, because thatâs were sheâs happy and always wanted.
I think I might write more in this universe, but my finals start next week so Iâm going to be busy. Also Iâm fucked because the only thing I did today was write and think out this altered universe. But:Â
The first part of the Owelia Week is almost over, but there are still three more themes to go! Congratulation to everyone who has already made something for this week; I loved all of it!
Owelia Week: Day 4
Theme: Hurt
Type: Fanfiction
She was wondering around the hospital, not knowing what to do. She had already checked on all her patients and she hadn't gotten a page in about an hour. But she didn't dare to leave either. The last few months she had been living in the hospital mostly. She stayed in an on-call room and only went back home when she really had to. She couldn't go back home to be on her own; the house was too empty without the happily talking of her niece and the crying in the middle of the night of her nephew. The house was too big and it reminded her that when she was on the deck, Derek wouldn't join her. She knew it was ridiculous; he hadn't been home a lot before he died anyway, but not seeing him now and knowing that she wouldn't see him ever again, she couldn't handle the pain. But she managed, she had everything managed. By not going home she could save more lives, she had more time to prepare lectures and that meant she didn't have to think about being alone. The only thing was that it was making her crave something. Something she didn't want to talk about. Something she had managed. Or thought she had. Richard had tried to push her to go to meetings, but she didn't want to go, she didn't want to talk about how empty she felt without her brother being somewhere on this earth alive.Â
She came to a stop as she saw some nurses trying to revive a patient, a doctor ran into the room and charged the panels trying to resuscitate him. Death was everywhere, she thought, even in a great hospital with amazing doctors; death could take whomever he wants. We can try to procrastinate death, by special treatments, but in the end, no matter how hard you try, you won't live forever. She walked on and neared the nursery. The only thing that could make her feel better was the thought of Derek being up there, taking care of her son. She imagined that in heaven, you don't need a brain or babies aren't born without it. In heaven everyone was happy and everyone was with the people he loved. Derek was probably reunited with their dad, catching up on old times. She stared through the glass wall, separating her from the babies. Luckily there was always new life, new people being born. Some of them might end up finding a cure for cancer, some of them might end up inventing hovercrafts, but now they're still innocent. Now they can rest and grow and they have their whole future in front of them. God, her head hurt. She trudged towards the door and left, before her memories of her son could break her again. She had no idea where to go next. She was bored out of her mind. She passed the open doors of the ER and she could hear some woman screaming about something to Bailey, who was trying to calm her. Her headache started to get worse so she decided to go somewhere private. A few moments later, she found herself in the chapel sitting in the exact same spot as ten months ago, when she was sitting there with Owen. She looked down at her hand and she imagined him holding it. She could still feel the warmth of his soft skin and the sparks that lit up when their eyes locked. She missed him horribly. She missed talking to him and him being there for her. She jumped up when she heard a voice next to her.
"Amelia? What are you doing here?"
"Jackson, I just had a headache and wanted some quiet."
"Oh, I'm sorry if I disturbed you then." He turned around and wanted to walk away, but Amelia stopped him.
"How are they? Her, I mean. April. Did you eum... Hear anything?"
"We talk a few times a week. Last time we spoke, she was talking about some surgery where they saved a guy's arm."
"Oh, okay." She faced back towards the front of the chapel and bit her lower lip. After a few minutes she noticed Jackson had left and that she was alone again. Looking at the front of the chapel she got up and walked over to the stand with the candles on it. Death is everywhere. She thought as she started to light all the candles one by one. She stopped when all the candles were lit and hoped it would help all families who where going through grave pain. Be it losing a baby, child, sibling, partner, parent or a grandparent. She hoped everyone who was dying right now wasn't alone. She hoped they had someone waiting for them and weren't hurting. She walked towards the first row and lay down on the wood. She fell asleep staring at the, what seemed like million, candles. The fire seeming as alive as the newborns, she hoped someone would get a miracle and starts burning again.
