Fanarts of my fave series :3 I'm not part of any fandom, just love the stuffs. Previously a Ravages of Time blog, now obviously into TWEWY. Buy me a boba: https://ko-fi.com/greysfall
Our pilgrimage to Shibuya October 2025 (in Shoka cosplay)
When my friend first introduced me to TWEWY in 2017-18 (ish?), we made a silly promise to someday go on a pilgrimage to Shibuya together. We've known each other for a long time so there has been many such promises and discussions, many of which never got realised - including my whimsical dream to someday do a cosplay of a character I like.
Then came NEO TWEWY and Shoka-chan! I instantly realised that ohhh, we have the same hair, same style! So maybe one day I could cosplay as Shoka and go take some pictures in Shibuya?! My friend took that idea seriously and even gifted me a set of Shoka's costume for my birthday some years ago.
That idea and our promise to visit Shibuya together finally came true in October 2025. We went to check out all the hot spots in TWEWY/NEO and took as many pictures as we could.
It all started at the Scrambled Crossing with a view of the 109 (104 in the game), of course!
Then Hachiko! It was very crowded there, the line of people queuing to take pictures with Hachiko was so long that we couldn't get any frontal shoot, so only the side it is.
From there, we headed to Tower Records and passed by Modi Building, which was once OICity in real life or Cadoi City in TWEWY before the rebranding in 2015.
Tower Records view from atop Miyashita Park (yes, the Park is on top of a building)
Miyashita Underpass (y'all see all the little symbols on the walls?!)
The Phone booth of Love (Spain Hill)
And of course, Cat Street where Mr.H's cafe would have been in the game! We didn't try any cafe, but went for the famous Iyoshi Cola on Cat Street.
And back to Scrambled Crossing once more, heading back to Shinjuku.
While we also checked in many other places around Shibuya like Dogenzaka/Tokyu Plaza/Takeshita Street and spent many hours wandering around Shinjuku, there were still places we couldn't check out yet, like the Shibuya River area or Udagawa Back Streets. Well, maybe those are for another trip someday soon.
Just a side note: cosplaying in public is not encouraged in Japan, specifically for costumes that may take up space or include props that may poke into people. I could only do this because the Shoka costume is pretty lowkey, basically even more lowkey than what normal people would wear in Shibuya.
All in all, you could only immerge in the kind of hectic melting pot that Shibuya really is by being there yourself. I do recommend going on a pilgrimage one day - no, maybe it will take several days cuz it's just that crazy - just remember to save up a lot of energies for the trip! I'm glad I was able to go before I became too old to do something like this, teehee.
Artwork for TWEWY anniversary event hosted by Japanese fans, where all the messages and artworks gathered will be made into a book that directly send to SQE headquarters for the game's creators to see. Thinking this might be the only chance in my life I get the staff to see my fanart for the game, I decided to draw Shoka meeting Gatto Nero's creators to represent my feeling teehee
Happy 16th Anniversary to TWEWY & 2nd Anniversary for Neo! I drew this for a message book project that was delivered to Square today. I'm very grateful for this chance to convey my love to the game staff. This series gave me a lot of inspiration, a true passion project from talented creators that will always be fun and unique even in the future. With or without a sequel, I wish the game staff the best of luck for their future creative endeavors!
The idea of this illustration is "something that will make the creators burst out laughing", which won over my initial idea of drawing something neat and pretty with only Josh xD I'm quite happy with how it turned out, which each of these characters representing how I felt during Neo and how much of a mess I think these higher plane dwellers (plus some sketchy Reapers plotting to intervene and some unwilling human just there to witness it all) make behind the main stage :v
Hi! Do you take commissions? What are your thoughts about it? Greetings!!
Hello! Currently I don't take commissions, though I am curious to know what people may wanna commission me to draw (and maybe to consider it sometimes) :D
What are your best art tips? I really love your work!
Thank you for the kind words!
Well, my art tips are probably similar to what others may advice but I'll try to have a go ;)
Never stop studying, cuz art is a set of technical skills so everyone gotta study all the basic elements (composition, digital softwares or traditional mediums, anatomy... etc) and critical contexts (art history, modern movements) to truly set a foundation and develop.
Find a passion project or two to work on. It's important to draw what you love and set a long goal with it.
Have short projects (commercial or not) along the way to learn new things and build up your mental image library.
Doing art is not only about drawing, it's about mental and even spiritual development too so please try to make connections that work for yourself.
Find inspiration from non-art things - either on your own or with a group/community!
[A story only Hachiko knows] long comic strip and birthday gift for @areiml. This is my imagination of a story set during the 3 years between OG and Neo, featuring a short meeting between Eri and Beat as they talked about how everyone was coping with Neku’s disappearance and moving on with their own lives.
This comic referred to several comic strips I made before, sorta intertwined between canon game lore, my thoughts on the unexplored potentials of Eri’s role in the story and my friend & I’s BeatEri fever dream. I imagined it would be set at around 3-6 months after Neku’s disappearance and shortly before the gang entered high school. I never thought it was gonna be this long as it all started out as a few whimsical panels. While the comic has mentions of NeShiki and BeatEri, you can read it as general friendship if that’s your preferred interpretation (save for the bonus piece below).
I actually have zero confidence writing Beat’s dialogues, tho I’m pleased with his design - which I put together by imagining Beat without his knitted cap, plus changing to some of his favourite WildBoar threads. My friend joked that since I’m used to draw sparkly Composers, I made Beat so handsome that even his parents won’t recognise him. Eri is canonically pretty, so I wanted to depict her as TV-star-pretty. Another trivia is that Beat generally isn’t a dessert fan, he also tends to dislike fruit-flavoured desserts and only enjoys chocolate-flavoured ones so it was a surprise that strawberry is his favourite boba flavour lmao. Now who does strawberry boba remind me of? Guess.
With this done, I’m one comic strip away from having enough materials for an anthology. The “final” strip was already drafted along with the Composers strip. If we’re lucky, I might get to draw it next year.
There is a Japanese version of this comic on Twitter in case you need it. And lastly, here is the bonus piece which is a redraw of my friend’s comic strip. Happy Birthday! (have fun being at the same age as Asa while I’m Tougou’s, teehee)
I think it’s really cute how people started digging out my 2021 Josh bday art again on this day. So as to not let you down, here is 2022 Josh birthday art and a very special request from me to you on this special occasion: I'm looking for someone who can help me translate my Composers comic strip into Japanese.
I know the strip is very text-heavy, my Japanese level is certainly not enough to work on it and it’s gonna take effort regardless. I promised the friend who got me into twewy to at least ask the fandom for some help. While my entire fanwork body is not monetized so I do not have a budget for this, I will be very happy to draw you any of your favourite characters from the franchise (up to two). I know it may not sound like a deal, it may be a long shot - which is why I've forever hesitated to ask but well, here is to a maybe.
Josh’s birthday 1/11 by the way, falls on Samhain festival - a festival to celebrate the darker half of the year during the time of which dead souls can visit the world of the living, along with a few other... things that will sneak through the gates. It's believed to be the origin of Halloween and All Souls' Day, though opinions may differ. The biggest sight for Halloween celebration in Japan just happens to be, none other than Shibuya.
And last but not least, happy birthday? (HOW OLD ARE YOU ANYWA-)
The idea is that Eri was waiting for Shiki & Neku with Beat, so she whimsically asked Beat to (someday) teach her skateboarding and he decided they should try it on the spot ;)

This ship started out as a fever dream just between us but we can’t stop marveling at how cute their interaction can be. This is also another continuation of our past strips here, we kept trying to fathom out their little story in a chronological order cuz it just feels fun and natural.
Neo Eri design by @areiml as well. I really like their Eri design because they keep her long red hair and big hat, before which I have seen some nice fan designs of Eri that alter her design a little bit (adding ponytail, color theme change...) to make Eri look different from OG Shiki. My friend noted that, in actuality, “OG Shiki” or the girl with loose red hair and colourfull outfit has always been Eri. The real Shiki was stripped of her identity and the same could be said for Eri in some way, having her appearance be seen as someone else by the entire fandom.
In my friend’s word: “Twewy brought up a good concept about self and appearance and it’s very hard to catch even for players or SE staff that do not pay close attention to the lore of the game. “
Just projecting the Shiki & Josh friendship that I want... Inspired by a fanart of Shiki doing Josh's hair I saw earlier, one my friend did of Shiki messing his hair up and my own youth: you can always ask a fashion designer friend to help trim your fringe cuz they’re really good with a scissors!
Also some silly extra to go with my silly idea... :v
I often associate Hazuki to the point of absolute tranquility in the depth of a troubled soul, like how the track “a tranquil mind” is used for his entrance and the Peaceful Dive battles. It was mentioned that once a Composer changes, the UG will also metamorphose. Makes me wonder if should the UG sink into corruption and despair, would it cloud the Composer’s judgement too?
It's the Composer's job to rebuild the UG post-purification. This time, will he let the homesick Reapers take up the job and watch from the dark, as sparks of light start to intrude the once sleepless city that is now deep in slumber?
Eri’s NEO: NTWEWY concept design by me. I was pretty cuelless as first but thanks to @greysfall/Mia suggestion, it went smoothly at the end, I’m pretty pleased with the result myself teehee.
Anyway, everybody are welcome to use any of them if you like. I wonder what is everyone’s favorite?
This “continuation” was a really cute surprise for me omg. Like Beat would totally do this!!! He’s got a sister so he’s so casual with girls and while he’s respectful, he may sometimes pull wild moves like this (obliviously) :v
I never thought his birthday would be revealed one day, and I totally wrote a 2000-word essay on how shocked I was to find out Josh is a fellow Scorpio. (It makes sense, I know about the stars - that’s exactly why I was so shocked).
Anyhow, here are sketches of some cute and boyish Josh moments during my OG Replay :3
I went around and accidentally bumped into things I shouldn't have seen, so I made up for myself by drawing some silly and pure stuffs. I feel like it wouldn’t be me if I haven’t done any silly Composer ft.Shopkeeper strip.
Anw turns out the bubble milk tea shops in Japan don’t carry as many toppings as I’ve had, with the exception of CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice and luckily they do have a Shibuya branch! These two should never go into a bubble milk tea shop, one would order full toppings and the other would take none, absolutely antagonistic behaviour.
