So... In the last few days I’ve been informed by several people that my Tumblr had been hacked (and thanks again to those people, really, thank you.)...Â
I’ve also seen that this is a common thing that has been happening on Tumblr lately. This is the main reason why I decided to stop using Tumblr a couple years ago. A lot of blogs that used to be my favourite ones don’t even exist anymore. Sadly, this platform has become a desert invaded by p*rnbots and not much else.
Anyway, this blog has been really important to me and I think it is something like 7/8 years old now. So I decided to take a look, since I didn’t want to delete it.Â
I made some researches on the internet and discovered that, even if there is no precise method to stop the hacking, there are some suggestions that seem to work. I tried to do the following steps:
1) I blocked all the accounts that started following me and had no pictures and no information. Better safe than sorry x)
2) I blocked all the accounts that started following me and were clearly bots and spams.
3) I changed my password and enabled the two-factor authentication (just go on settings).
4) I noticed that my queue, that I NEVER used, was programmed with almost 300 posts (of course, all p*rnbots), so I removed them one by one.Â
So... I’m not sure that this will stop the hacking, but I tried. I saw that this is really common so I hope it can be useful. I really hope that I won’t have to delete the blog, so let’s see what happens. :)
