Enchanted Masquerade | Drawtober entry II.

The ballroom was empty when you arrived, dark and grand (You entered on your own, no invitation in hand) But the memory of voices lingered, a song without a band (You were never on their list, entry only by demand) Your eyes are drawn to a mirror and there framed in gold (You don't belong here, how could you have been so bold) You see horrors in the looking glass as their tragedies unfold (Your skin prickles with unease, you're cold, so cold) Blood drips down the walls now, staining the marble at your feet (You thought you could escape attention, such a foolhardy conceit) Their empty eyes follow every movement as hastily you try retreat (It's too late now, too late! they've noticed your deceit)
