the store closest to me is a mixed asian market (vietnamese owners under a local chinese franchise) and the produce there is so insane. it's like so fresh that first time i got broccoli there i was confused about the color because i'd never seen it that fresh. but fuck the broccoli. they have a bank of the produce section just for mushrooms. you can literally just walk over there and buy three pounds of the most beautiful, perfect oyster mushrooms. so many you can barely fit them in a grocery sack. and it's like $4. sometimes i just walk over to buy some random mushrooms. sorry to mushroom post on main but it's the most beautiful place in my city and i've never seen anything like it anywhere else. the other nearest much more popular and fancy grocery store is like "hi here are our 3 seasonal brown button mushrooms that we kicked around the parking lot for two hours and you can buy them for $10 a pound" and then two blocks away is mushroomtopia.
