Girls who are gonna be ok <3
it occurred to me that santos may not have actually had a best friend since her friend committed suicide when they were teenagers and that might be part of why she pushes dennis away. she's afraid of losing him so she keeps him at arms length, but they live together and santos pays his bills for 10 months and keeps buying avocados even though she knows he eats them and they watch tv together on their days off. he is indisputably her best friend, but she can't make herself say it.
Holding a human heart in your hands while looking your mom dead in the eye. Filming ICE & running off to post on your tiktok with thousands of followers so people see them arresting a fucking ER nurse. Comforting a family through the death of a loved one. fuck yeah javadi belongs in the ER
y'all think she ever goes to the hospital chapel?
hey did anyone else tear up when the family psych counselor explained that her kidās prospects radically declined with her diagnosis but that thereās love and laughter in their home. and did anyone else sob and bawl on the ground when javadiās face had a look that said i do everything my parents want and more and thereās not love and laughter like that in our home. or perhaps i donāt trust that my parents would talk so fondly about me if we were ever in this position. or like was that just me.
javadi's growth from s1 to s2 is truly a pleasure to watch because she's gone from someone with good intentions but bad approach (scaring off the unhoused mom) to going the extra mile and connecting with her patients in a way they can easily accept (finding jada to talk about her brother). she truly has graduated summa cum laude from the cassie mckay school of empathy and it's so beautiful
Gee I wonder if thereās a parallel between Dr Mohan being uncharacteristically rude and dismissive to her coworkers and patients as she was ramping up into her panic attack and Dr Robby being downright mean as he edges closer to his possible actual suicide. Itās almost like Dr Mohan had visible symptoms that she could express and receive immediate help for, and maybe he might feel some sort of way about that on a subconscious level.
Itās almost like Danaās conversation with Langdon about his sobriety depending on his support network had a subtextual meaning for the person shown to be listening in on it.
Idk .
Robby ran in there, worried for his doctor. A heart attack is serious and he cares for his people. He looked frantically at the paperwork, snatched it from her, saw no abnormalities and raced to check her out with a stethoscope himself not trusting anything but his own senses. Then he recognized the signs. A panic attack. And he immediately saw himself in her. He saw how he broke ten months prior and never really pulled himself together. And instead of reacting out of compassion he reacted the same way he reacted to himself. Out of hatred. He treated Samira Mohan, at a very vulnerable moment, the same way he treats himself every day because in that moment she was too similar to himself. And he hates himself enough to contemplate leaving and never returning
knowing garcia and santos have had sex means that garcia 100% has seen trinityās scars. so. so. that therapist comment is rubbing me the wrong way at such a visceral level actually
sort of a spiritual successor to my rooftop comic
It has occurred to me that perhaps this is not the first man in Trinity Santosā life that got the opportunity to waltz back into it with minimal to zero consequence despite the troubling and severe nature of the crime that he committed while everyone around her makes excuses for him and minimizes the damage he causedā¦ā¦..

Am I comfortable in silence?
everybody leaves
robby can lash out in self-hatred and be a misogynist at the same time. robby can be written to be purposefully hypocritical and incidentally misogynistic at the same time. robby can be suffering from ptsd and be a misogynist at the same time. āactually the point is heās lashing out because he sees himself in samira and hates itā correct. AND heās being misogynistic while heās at it
this was all about how necessary community is.
that elderly man going to the ER because samira is a friend to him. the obese man who lives alone tearing up at genuine human kindness and acceptance. digby being someone who can mourn louie when he seemed so alone. the hospice patient being able to relax once her parents show up. the college studentās parents being able to accept help from someone that looks like them whoās gone through the same thing.
they keep reiterating how you canāt get through things alone. the jewish community needs muslims, the doctors need pharmacists, dana needs robby. thereās all these macro and micro interactions that enforce this thesis. there are cultural, structural, professional, communal, and interpersonal vectors of support that are so necessary.
these doctors understand this truth deeply, they see the evidence of it daily. but every single one of these doctors is isolated. samira isnāt moving back to new jersey, robby is leaving for canada, dennis leaves for the farm, garcia denies trinityās company. physician heal thyself, huh?
trinity and her terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day
