Hello! I really wanted to ask — can the MC still eat? I know they became a robot, but Eden still tried giving them some of their organs, if I’m not mistaken. Also, Eden mentioned wanting to gift the MC the mutilation thing on their wedding night, but what if the MC lowkey cut him off and said, “You could’ve waited until after we had sex 🥹”? Would he actually stop whatever he was doing for that MC cookie?

Yes! According to Eden, food is a pleasure of life. So MC doesn't need to eat, but they can.

Possible, but unlikely. MC would have to feel REALLY tempting and they should give some solid reasons to do it now while still seeming completely vulnerable.

He would. Actually, becoming one himself was the idea in the first place. However, as big as his ego can be, he wasn't sure of the fact this design would work. Besides, someone had to transfer his being to the model, turn it on, and make sure everything went as planned in general. That someone had to be extremly trustworthy, smart enough, and devoted to him, infallible; MC, as his assigned future spouse, turned out to be the ideal candidate.

That's how Eden came to make MC his first test subject, lover, and eventually the one to secure his eternity or, nearly unthinkable, death.

To Eden, him and MC being together forever would only be natural consequence of his plan's success.

Pretty much! Though adding things like natural-looking skin, hair, etc would be more cosmetic flairs in Eden's eyes so he didn't add them to MC (other than molding the face after them).

Does MC’s head remain intact?

Eden removes MC's head from their shoulders and does NOT put it back. MC's 100% robot in the end. Though, unlike Jackson's, MC's head didn't face any other trauma post being detached.

How would Eden expect them to have kids if the MC is biologically a woman—did he replace their stomach/womb too?

By the time the game takes place, Eden hasn't figured out how to make a humanoid model fertile regardless of the sex or species he's basing it off.

In the case of MC being biologically a woman, he would replace the womb's place with another speudo-organ. Still, it'd be one of those (actually) useless organs.

If he wanted a kid with MC the procedure would be in vitro. For the time being, he's decided not to reinvent the wheel lol.

Eden: yes.

Well, as you can see in the game MC still "feels" physical sensations. That's because Eden integrated sensors into the body by layers. Depending on the area touched, pressure, the combination of different sensors and amount of sensors triggered send info into the "brain". This brain then searches de database for memories Eden transferred in, and plays the memory of emotioans, such as pain/pleasure acoording to command, along with any other prompt to action. Some of these actions/reactions are similar to those of sexual nature in real humans. Not everything can be programmed though.

For the actual form of MC's, Eden has made prosthetics and structures to work and look similar to the human body fairly ok? There can be cold, warm, soft, hard, firm, runny, or shift materials' states depending on prompt (since MC isn't pure metal).

With all of that, you can guess his expectations for intercourse are not that creative.

Very far fetched explanation from the writer here, but I never as great at sci-fi logic lol.

Completely. He started replacing body parts to test how they were working (and also because he's pretty sadistic ngl). Still, in the end MC is fully robotic. In-game it's not super explicit, but the shift happens as soon as MC's vision changes. To an extent, we tried to portray it with the UI.

As we know, Jackson dies in the visual novel Manufacture Love (RIP Jackson). I definitely didn’t see that one coming. Out of curiosity, what exactly did Eden do to Jackson besides taking his eyes to feed the MC? I’m pretty sure everyone knows he tortured him, but are there any details about what happened?

Did Eden and Jackson talk during that time? Did Jackson ever hear the MC yelling for him? In the VN, the MC wakes up to Jackson’s screams and calls out, hoping he can hear her. Did he ever actually hear the MC?

Also, what were Jackson’s final thoughts before he passed away?

And was Eden really that overcome with jealousy? He left the MC for about two years and then suddenly kidnapped them. Ik he probably wanted that Mc cookie, but wow 😭

Back to answering asks, hiii! Be warned, answers contain a lot of spoilers and turned out more lengthy than expected.

Out of curiosity, what exactly did Eden do to Jackson besides taking his eyes to feed the MC?

Confirming, Eden WAS intentional about making it painful for Jackson. However, since Eden's expertise is not in torture devices, most of the physical matter involved brute force, crushing, "sealing" wounds, starting by extremities progressive removal of parts. He planned to feed certain ones to MC so those were the only (mostly?) unmarred. The final blow was to the head, but since Eden wanted to read Jackson's expressions he didn't harm the face overall (other than the eyes).

Did Eden and Jackson talk during that time?

They do, but it's more like Eden talks to a barely responding Jackson. While Eden made sure not to damage MC's capacity to speak too much, Jackson was no longer articulate rather early on.

Did Jackson ever hear the MC yelling for him?

Not really, muffled at best, since Eden put Jackson in the room with better soundproofing. While Eden didn't mind MC hearing Jackson at times, he didn't want Jackson to hear MC. Eden was doing the good old recording convos with MC and making Jackson hear clips out of context to manipulate him.

Also, what were Jackson’s final thoughts before he passed away?

They can be divided into regretful and yearning, then switch into a sort of epiphany or aha moment.

At first, a bit fatalistic and fantasizing, he wished that he had confessed to MC early and spared years of heartache. He regretted playing it safe. He imagined what if they had ran away, how their short-lived relationship would have been even if they were eventually found. 

However, as he felt the first strike to his forehead, he was overcome with terror. We see a bit in-game, Jackson was rather sporty. He always took care of his body, didn't plan on dying young and wanted to reduce the physical pain of growing old. You can say if body violation was bad for MC, for Jackson it was x10 worse. Thus, the moment he was certain of his death, everything clicked.

He hated Eden with every once of his being, but with a weapon resting on his face Jackson was at awe: Eden wanted to live forever, and so did he.

In the end, he despises how he somehow "gets" Eden's point. He dreads the coming killshot but hopes Eden's experiment with MC succeeds, for it's better to be trapped into "life" rather than death.

A very long explanation of his last thoughts, may be a bit of a bummer sorry hehe (yes, the writer cannot hide they have thought of the game from Jackson's POV lol).

And was Eden really that overcome with jealousy?

Possessiveness may be more accurate. He is a bit jealous, but in the heat of the moment his first feeling is more that of feeling insulted, like "how dare you!". Jealousy affects him more when he's actually interacting with MC and Jackson and ruminates over it alone.

You didn't miss anything. Jackson can't be rescued🥲 The blue vs. red choices are more about the evolution of your feelings, besides being the triggers for either of the 2 endings.

I just finished playing the full game and oh my goodness, you all did a fantastic job with everything! I do have one question though — did Jackson ever end up marrying Camilla before the mc and him kissed or were both simply just coexising without a relationship? The art was absolutely flawless, and you can really tell how much time and effort was put into it. Huge props to the voice actors and the artist, and especially to the writers and developers 😊 You all truly outdid yourselves!

In regards to Jackson and Camila, they didn't get married. Camila's parents are pretty pro system and all for her going independent. To save money and keep peace with them, she asked Jackson to share the rent. Jackson and Camila had gone on a few "dates" before this, so it was fairly obvious it was going to work as a cover-up.

The most accurate way to describe their relationship would probably be that of friendly roomates.

Before Manufacture Love releases I have to ask... Eden comes across as very Dr. Easterman (Outlast Trials) coded to me, with the sadism and him wanting to "fix" MC while being oddly "affectionate" in a gross (honorific) sort of way? Like, him listening to MC chew in the demo, and the line about him seeming to see himself as generous and doting despite... you know... sawing MC's limbs off. Is that deliberate or just coincidence?

Hi! Alright, so the writer didn't know Outlast Trials before this ask; Dr. Easterman coding is a coincidence haha. Though, they do share the mad scientist character archetype.

I was lowkey watching Hello Yinny on YouTube talking about Manufacture Love, and my friend told me it’s coming out this Friday. So I ended up looking through your Tumblr to find any fun facts about the characters. I saw an ask where you responded that Eden loves the MC more like a project and his idea of a spouse, which made me curious. Does he genuinely love the MC, or does he mostly see them as his project?

I also remember that the game asks the MC whether they want kids. How would Eden respond depending on that choice? And what would he do if the MC genuinely didn’t want to become a robot, or whatever he’s trying to turn them into?

Thanks! Replying after release, sorry. But answering your questions:

Warning: all of these may be slightly spoilery

1. His feelings evolve. Before meeting MC he's "in love" with the concept of partner MC and them as a project as previously mentioned. Once they meet there are seeds for his genuine "love" feelings as he engages with the real MC. However, most of his true feelings for MC as a person, for better or worse, would hypothetically develop after the game in quotidian life, or as quotidian as it gets for them.

2. This is assuming you get THAT ending because he wouldn't even mention kids otherwise. Eden would like to have kids even if it's not a non-negotiable for him, so he'd try to condition MC as best as possible to want kids for a while. Only then would he ask if MC wants kids. If MC said yes, he'd be sweet about it but wouldn't rush it. If MC said no, he'd genuinly feel hurt and confused for a second but would quickly fake-smile. He'd question MC to try to understand the reasons until he feels safe again. The scare of MC maybe not wanting kids because they don't like him anymore would be enough to make him accept their choice, for a while at least.

3. Get annoyed and impatient at times because he'd make it happen anyway.
