I like those styles when the ducks bills make small o shapes despite that being impossible with a real bill. Like in Princess Tutu.

Like Meowth, Persian started out with sock markings and colored tail tip which was even visible in their back-sprite.

This design was really nice but then I love me som cats with socks. Also Persian had some really nice eyelashes and claws, giving this cat a rather menacing look. I think the 3D model lost some of Persians personality, less sleek and less mischievous.
