Sending Grace against his will was already hard. Taking away his memories was even harder. But at least you can cling to small mercy that he'll be in capable hands. Yao and Ilyukhina will support him. They can figure it out toghether, hurtling through space further than anyone has ever been. You cling to this mercy to soothe the grief and guilt to a managable level. 26 years later, four probes return to Earth with a solution to save the dying sun and logs recorded onto them. You get the honour of being the first to watch them. You press play on the first one. You are Eva Stratt. You are about to have the worst day ever.

Something quick, I just really wanted to draw Grace and Adrian messing with Rocky and bonding.

First reaction: that has to be terrible as someone who's so vulnerable to threats, they must be guarded. Very disorienting

Second reaction: if there is a threat, you can't just wake up your friend and leave/fight together. I wonder if burying is another strategy they use to protect sleeping eridians from predators. Maybe this feels like being a child — comforting in a way, but prankish in its infantilisation

Yes yes yes! I assume the way to deal with danger as an Eridian whose friend is sleeping is to either grab them and run with them, fend off an attack or hide toghether. You'd probably drag your friend for cover, considering an adult Eridians size, but if it's pebbles you're guarding, it'd be easy to bury them aswell. I like to imagine that Grace was delighted to learn about this, knowing that if he and Adrian bury Rocky the joke wouldn't be lost on him; at first, Grace wanted to bury Rocky like people do to others at the beach, making him into a mermaid, for his own enjoyment (after checking in with Adrian of course, since he doesn't want to upset Rocky by moving him in his sleep).

What I think Rocky could look like + a wip of Grace and Stratt. Not sure if I will finish it, I'm just thinking about how Eve gave Adam a bite of the apple dooming him with knowledge and how Eva told Grace about project Hail Mary, also dooming him like that. I think it makes a nice allegory.

A little tribute to the Artemis 2 crew and all the wonderful people behind it. It's such a special moment, and being able to sit and watch this live is just incredible. Truly an overwhelmingly joyous experience. Science rocks!
