FOLLOW MY DEGREE PROJECT TUMBLR!
Dear loyal followers,
It is that time in my RISD career where I must embark on my degree project. To that end, I have created a new tumblr blog to document my degree project process and progress.
I know you will like this blog, especially if you don’t like noses.

Good Morning/Good Night
Two roommates, every morning at 6:00 am she goes to sleep and he wakes up. For years, the only words they spoke to each other were “good morning” “good night.” But one day that all changed… She stayed up past 6:00 am, and they found out they were the best of friends.

Sketch of Mike Ehrmantraut. Haven't done a sketch in a few days and I'm trying to get back in the habit. Not terribly pleased with how it came out but it's something!
Very colorful self portrait. This is another old sketch. I'm too busy and stressed to even sketch but I'll try to fit one in tonight.
Digital self portrait made using data from xbox kinect.

Snowed In Result
The following system of rules was written with the intent to create an visually interesting result, while allowing the result to be determined entirely by the rules, or steps.
Step 1: Roll die to determine color of ink to fill snowball with Step 2: Throw ink-filled snowball onto canvas Step 3: Roll die to determine direction to blow snowball with hair dryer Step 4: Repeat step three until snow ball melts Step 5: Begin again from step one, until one hundred colored marks are made on the canvas
After writing these rules, the artists made no creative choices. They only followed the steps to their conclusion, determined by the roll of the die — or to be precise, a random number generator running on a mobile phone.

One thing about me is I am incapable of drawing realistically proportioned figures from imagination.
How does one one remedy this? Draw nude models from life.
I am lucky enough that RISD has open figure drawing sessions with models twice a week, so today I attended, beginning what I hope will become a habit.
Here are a few of the sketches I did, along with a drawing of a skull from RISD's nature lab.
Sketch of Stannis Baratheon the One True King of Westeros
Digital painting of a fox from the RISD nature lab
gouache paintings based on vistas I saw hiking in New England for Color studio.
Fox painted in gouache and the under sketch from last semester color studio.
Painting of Rust Cole from back when True Detective was current. Can't wait for season two!
