I mostly stayed away from Tumblr in 2015, finding myself too old & too far along in a professional job to be writing personal things online anymore. I really didn’t write very much in my actual pen & paper journal either, finding that old thing to be full of bullet point lists of things I wanted to accomplish, without much follow through. Actually, I find I’ve accomplished a whole hell of a lot more since I stopped journaling. Since I stopped stopping to reflect. I went back into some old entries, just to get some confirmation I’ve made progress, and I got to check off so much shit I had been trying to do for years. Usual 20s personal goals: better with money, lose weight, putting myself out there creatively, etc. I find myself, at 30, going into next year with goals that are far less measurable, but way more meaningful. 

Being more patient and graceful with my coworkers. Allowing myself more time to sit around and do nothing by not filling up my entire schedule with shit to do. Taking the time to get to know the people already in my life in a deeper way. Overall just appreciating the life I’ve already built for myself and sinking into it with more thought and care. 

Also I’m gonna learn Spanish. I’m born and raised SoCal and it’s insane that I don’t speak it already. Feliz año nuevo!
