Hello, I'm Jerri Blank and I'm a 46 year old high school freshman... My cross stitch for the show Strangers With Candy!
All hail the fabulous Amy Sedaris! The incredibly gifted, inspired and twisted comedic genius and rubber-faced character actress (born 29 March 1961) turns 65 today. If all Sedaris ever did was give us the monstrously perverse middle-aged delinquent Jerri Blank in black comedy Strangers with Candy (1999–2000), we’d be forever in her debt! But there’s also her hilarious performances in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2020) and At Home with Amy Sedaris (2017-2020) (which isn’t streaming anywhere in the UK, which I take as a personal hate crime) and memorable recurring guest star appearances in TV shows like Sex and the City and Broad City. She’s also, of course, the authoress of books like I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence (2006) and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People! (2010). Look, I know that for all intents and purposes that John Waters is retired from filmmaking, but he MUST make one more movie just so that he can collaborate with Sedaris.
