Use “less” to refer to a quantity and “fewer” to refer to individual items.
Less water. Fewer oranges.
Use “less” if there’s only one item.

Exacerbate vs. Exasperate
These commonly-confused words both suggest that things are getting worse, but they have distinctly different meanings.
Exacerbate means to make something worse than it already is. This generally refers to a bad situation, or an established problem.
His financial difficulties were exacerbated by the high cost of gasoline.
Exasperate means to frustrate or annoy. This generally refers to someone’s personal reaction.
The professor was exasperated by the repeated, pointless questioning.

An apostrophe is NEVER used to make a noun plural. Apostrophes are only used for contractions or to make a noun possessive.

Actually, it should be “really well.”
Dangling prepositions are prepositions that are stranded at the end of sentences.
Who are you going with?
This is considered bad form.
But the alternative would be: With whom are you going?
That sounds very stuffy. Dangling prepositions are fine to use, most of the time.
A word or phrase is sometimes put in quotation marks to imply snark or mockery.
Nice “shoes.” (If someone is wearing slippers, for instance.)
While this is acceptable, it should be avoided.
Use quotation marks to quote something that was actually said. For instance, if someone had said that their slippers are shoes, then it makes sense to mock them by putting “shoes” in quotations. It’s still obnoxious, though.
“Between you and I” is never correct.
It’s always correct to say “between you and me.”
While it’s not incorrect to use the phrase “at this point in time,” it’s an awkward and unnecessary phrase.

Generally, when two words are used together to modify a noun, they should be hyphenated.

This usually does not apply if the two-word adjective is after the noun.
The man was too tall to get through the doorway without bending down.
Who is used where one would use he, and whom is used where one would use him.
He is there. Who is there?
This belongs to him. This belongs to whom?
But whom sounds pretentious, and in most cases it is acceptable to just use who even where whom would be strictly correct.
Years ago, kids were in the habit of saying things like, “Me and Jane are going now!”

The correct form is, “Jane and I are going now, and you should come with Jane and me.”
Regardless and irregardless mean the same thing.
However, the word irregardless is frowned on for being colloquial and is considered nonstandard.
You bring something to me, and you take something from me.
If I am at home, I can remind you to take your book to school.
If I am at school, I can call you to ask you to bring your book to school.
If I am at home and you are leaving for school, it would be incorrect for me to say, “Don’t forget to bring your book to school with you.”
