bedtime hour has long ended yet jinyoung is heading to great lake. for what, exactly? not that he even used his head in the first place when he managed to sneak out of the castle (not so easily).
but now that he’s there, standing by the edge of the lake, it’s not so bad.
nevermind the cold, chilly wind that’s practically stabbing his bones through the layers of clothing (and the fact that he forgot his warmer back in the shared bedroom), the great lake sure have one of the best scenery in hogwarts. the moonlight shine through, reflecting its light onto the water and jinyoung take notices on this, his heart is warm for a moment.
finally, jinyoung smiles -- temporarily, sure, but the clamor in his head isn’t stopping him from frowning once again, the thought of how or what kind of plan he should already have in his hand before graduation happens (ugh, bloody graduation). if only time could freeze, he’d wish to just stay this way, forever being the young, reckless guy he is who have no worries about the future whatsoever.
if only.
he threw his body over the grass on the edge of lake, giving in to the grass as his mattress. it’s cold, sure, but does he even care for now? all he wanted was to enjoy the night scenery and the quietness, his eyelid slowly closing.
the long awaited weekend is finally coming, and guess what jung raymond jinyoung does during those days? studying, yeah, as if -- as much as he keep telling his parent in letter that yes, mom, i’m going to the library even during weekends too; he actually vowed to himself to never touch a single book (or potion, or anything related to studying, for that matter) and stay away from responsibilities until it’s monday again.
so here he is, (not really) sneaking into the empty classroom while carrying around his guitar (in which everyone seems to keep an eye on him as he passed by, as if peoples aren’t familiar with the concept of muggle music instrument).
not that he can’t just stay in the common room and played a song or two for the whole house, he’s fully capable of doing so, but jinyoung just want some peace time for himself and his guitar--and clearly, the common room doesn’t grant him that.
the room is (always) empty by the time he stepped in. the place reeks of dust and jinyoung coughed at first, but the male is still smart enough to pull out his wand from his pocket to cast scourgify before sitting by the middle row bench, his acoustic guitar sitting by his lap.
he took the time to tune the guitar (because some bloody gryffindor just had to play around with his guitar and mess up the whole tuning), each strum resonates within the room and he’s suddenly focused. it took him a good five minutes before he start playing his own rendition of lee juck’s it’s fortunate.
“miss son, i believe it is well past your bedtime--” he said in a voice deeper than usual, tone voiced with assertiveness (despite it all being done in a rather joking manner) as he approach, “--and library hours ended minutes ago, miss. are you implying that you want to get detention?” (nobody’s getting detention and it’s still one hour until library hours ends, but of course he just likes to exaggerates it for the sake of annoying the younger female).
thus it only took him seconds until he successfully sit beside the younger wizard, somehow looking like he’s ready to tease her more with his mischievous grin, albeit knowing that it’s supposed to be her (and his, too) time to study.
but in all seriousness, he felt like it’s been days since he last seen the ravenclaw girl that jinyoung feel the urgency to seek her. he tried finding her in the ravenclaw dining table during lunch and dinner and there were not traces of the female, nobody spotted her (thus her housemate replies). he entered the library after dinner and there she was, sitting with her nose buried with the books (too predictable--but not that he mind, he should’ve been the one who went to said place sooner).
“did you even had dinner yet?” and there he goes, suddenly showing his soft, brotherly side. expression painted with worries as he looks at her straight in the eyes. jinyoung sighed as if already knowing the answer, shakes his head and leans closer to start whispering.
“i mean, i know you haven’t had one anyway, so i bought chocolate frogs and pudding. it’s inside my robe. do you want it, or do you prefer your books more than these treats?” so he pulled away, a chocolate frog package peeking out from his school robe as he grinned. and being the gryffindor he is, surely he’s testing out naeun whether she’s brave enough to break a rule (or two) this time.

ok so basically he’s a calm, mature guy but yet a clumsy one. everyone in his family thought he’s gonna be a ravenclaw since that’s what the rest of his siblings are (he have three younger sibling who’s also attending hogwarts at the same time... and if anyone wants to be jinyoung’s ‘sibling’ pls feel free to shoot me a msgs so we can plot! ; n ; and another one who is yet to become a student too, btw) but being a gryffindor awakens the lion within him and his more ‘wilder’ side (WE CAN WORK ON THIS PLOT... GRYFF PEOPLES... i summon thee) and thus turn him into the clumsy and humorous guy with positive mindset who often tricks people with his calmness.

he’s born from a korean pureblood family who has been residing in england from generation to generation
but that doesn’t make him lacking in korean language as well as the muggle’s culture as jinyoung grows huge interest to the music, albeit the fact that he's being discreet about it as they wished him to live the ‘wizard’ way instead of the ‘muggle ways’

just because he’s calm and studious doesn’t means he excels at studies... it’s all just an image and facade that he puts on for his parents when, in fact, jinyoung cheats in his exam from time to time --but that’s only a secret that the gryffindor knows of--
not quite the ‘loud’ kind of guy, he appears quiet and cold by his first impression, but upon getting to know him he’s not more than a just clumsy fellow...
who, by the way, is actually pretty wise and mature for his age?? because he’s the oldest sibling and he takes care his sibling a lot which is why he often gives out advice to others and take care of the others as well (even when he doesn’t realize it)
he bought his fender cd-60 guitar to hogwarts and often plays the said guitar in the gryffindor common room
is actually pretty decent at singing though he still have a long way to go
loves music??? especially muggle music and all the jazz but of course his parents doesn’t know about it because he wants him to be the pureblood wizard that he is
forgets about his wands A LOT
like one time he’ll ask his friends where the heck did he last put his wands when in fact it’s inside his robe
he does this almost everyday
also a very messy guy who really can’t clean up or tidy his own space. those who are rooming with him shall be patient especially since he makes a mess out of a place quickly
but even though so he’s a reliable guy -- you can count on him and he’s always responsible with his works and stuffs
rumor has it that he has never had a girlfriend before because he tend to be really cheesy and embarrassing when he’s with a girl though
additional note: he knows a lot about cooking (and that includes cooking in the conventional, non-muggle ways)
being a seventh grade he knows that he should study more since his father wants him to become an auror but rly that’s not what jinyoung wants
