I don't have the writing capability but I was wondering what my worst fear would be in an Isekai sense.
I decided it would be something simple. Similar to something I wrote previously but hopefully better.
A lonely hero or monarch, Fated for some grand fate but ultimately after devoting your life to one thing for so, so long when you goal, prophecy or destiny is finally fulfilled it leaves someone feeling hollow, no?
Take a person living a normal life, no fated expectations, no deities or prophecies, and the ability to step away from or pause the story as if it doesn't matter to them or impact their life.
The doubt starts small. A seed planted when the hero/monarch wakes up to the same morning that marked the beginning of their quest. Time seems to stop for a moment, barely noticeable until it happens again and again as if the world is paused around them.
Each time they catch a glimpse into a world so far from theirs. A world of normalcy where fate and prophecy hold little weight. Again and again they relive the same tragedies, victories and prophecy accomplished. Throughout it all is the glimpses of that world and soon jealousy starts to bloom.
Their decline starts small, missed guests, important plot points sabotaged, plots foiled and throughout it all they're praised by the once vibrant crowd that now seem so flat. The cheers do nothing to stem the growing jealousy.
Then came another 'pause', as they called it, they force themselves to turn and reach out for the world of simplicity. The pain, the cracks in reality couldn't stop them until they had pulled their new fate into their arms.
You don't remember much, do you? You woke up in a simple, but cozy, room with a worried hero/monarch and a world you adored.
You trusted them, didn't you? The concern? The offers to help? But you didn't notice the jealousy in their eyes, the control of being 'the only person that can help you', the slow threads tightening around you?
They know you can't leave, even if you find out they are the reason your here. They know with their reputation you will have no one willing to believe you, worse if they have a harem, party or an entire kingdom willing to lie to protect them or please them.
You are stuck with them. You're their normalcy, their anchor in a world that only cares for what a prophecy needs them for.
So let them be selfish, just this once, please?
It is WINTER why do bees keep flying into my room?!

I have never been more angry than right now...
Context: sent laptop for repairs because it wouldn't charge and the light for changing wasn't on. Repair place had it FOR MONTHS kept asking for more money.
I opened the case to find no work was doom, tape everywhere (INCLUDING THE MOTHERBOARD!)...
FUCKER REALLY THOUGHT I WOULDN'T OPEN THE CASE!
I had the thought of having a phone in some fantasy setting and explaining texting... Only for it to get misunderstood and not you're running between kingdoms like a messager to deliver 'texts' (just messages written on the screen, that you have to write as it gets dictated to you.)
There is a bee in my room and it keeps circling me. It can leave. It is choosing not to leave.
put him down like a bomb and back away slowly
Telling my dog "I love you!" And watching her get so happy she whines and swims on the blanket
When I was growing up I always wanted to be able to speak to animals as a superpower. Now? You can just learn to mimic them and read body language... I was an idiot...
Besides speaking to animals does not mean they speak back in a language I could understand.
The answer to "How did these Ancient People do this????" is basically always
1. A lot of dudes. Just a ton of fucking people from beginning to end of the process.
2. Ancient people weren't stupid, they just figured shit out the same way we do: fuck around until you find out.
3. We're gonna plan this out and it's gonna take ten fucking years, and you will cope.
4. Sticks and string are surprisingly versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, like moving stuff and making sure things are even and go in the spot you wanted to put them in!
5. I want to make this easier and more efficient to move. If I put this on the round thing and push, it will move. If I put this in water, it will move. If I get some animals and rope and have a whole bunch of them drag it, it will move. All of these things are a better option than one guy trying to pick the whole fucking thing up.

I got one of those smart watches for my birthday and I just love checking my heart rate because I'm so curious what makes it jump higher than normal.
So I was playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon when I had a idea. It gets kinda dark so bear with me.
Waking up in another world is terrifying especially when you can only remember your name.
When you open your eyes you are met with a friendly face, or at least semi trust worthy as the worried look would have you believe they are. You're stunned for a few seconds, unable to make sense of this... This creature that is definitely not human.. The world around you is not your home, it's wrong in a way you can't explain. There is an almost shimmer to the atmosphere around you in a way you can't examine.
You try to explain your situation, what little you can remember of it anyway, only to be met with a laugh and a worried. "Did you hit your head? Earth? Fiction? Do you need to see a doctor L? "
After failing to get your point across, they pat your head ad tell you that you're overwhelmed. "You must be tired after a fall like that."
You try to insist that you're fine, that you don't need rest, but it's all for nothing as they take your hand and lead you away to a small cottage. You are told it is a spare home the town has and, after being given the grand tour, they tell you that you can have the house for free if you start an adventuring party with them, something you later learn no one else wanted to do for some unknown reason.
You agree, because let's be honest here that is probably your best and only way to get information on a way home, and eventually, after some shenanigans and the town turning against you and trying to kill you after finding out you are in fact human. You both become famous for saving their world and for having the strongest adventuring team made up of people deemed unwanted by other parties. A true found family in a fantasy world full of danger.
As with all good things, your time with your new friends and allies comes to an end. A feast is held in your honor, tearful goodbyes are shared.
When you get home? Everything seems normal. You're back to your regular life, be that a nine to five or studying. You start to forget about your adventures, they fade like a dream when you wake up in the morning. Memories you made, the team you built, the partner that stood by you through everything... They all fade with time. Was it all a dream?
..."Did you think we'd forget?"...
..."Why?! Why did you abandon me?!"...
..."You can't leave me alone again!"...
..."I WON'T LET YOU!"...
"You're awake! I was so worried..." You wake up back in your base to the same concerned expression you saw when you first arrived to this world.
"Home?" They tilt their head unsure of what you mean. "You must have been dreaming, Silly!" They smile wilder pulling you into a hug. "But don't worry. I did promise to get you home. Now let's get some breakfast! The team has prepared your favorites!"
Suddenly your original way home doesn't work. Nothing else you try ends with failure. Your partner and team is always there to comfort you, to wipe your tears and offer encouragement.
They will all work together to get you home. You just need to realize 'Home' is with them.
... So please don't leave, Okay?
