After drawing [insert number here] other people’s Earths on Artfight, I finally properly drew my own!! So, here’s Earth from my Lord Sun thing :] my girl
This, I think, somewhat is her thoughts towards Sun (or a very honest version of them at least)
I kinda wanna write something (read: write something other than my ongoing long fanfic) so
What do I write
Angst and maybe hurt/comfort (leaning towards pregnancy as body horror atm)
like the gay realisation but it’s realising you’re aro
ocd (featuring 2022 Sun and Moon)
fluff (Nexus redemption idea I have)

all these ideas I would write for would be focused on the Sun and Moon Show btw. Mostly Sun-centric but one of the options is about Moon (it’s not the one you’re probably thinking it is)

BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING ELSE I WANT TO STATE I DO NOT HATE MOON. HE IS IN FACT ONE OF MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS, PARTIALLY DUE TO HIS DEVELOPMENT, AS THIS EPISODE DISPLAYS. THIS IS AN ANALYSIS OF THEIR BEHAVIOUR IN AN EPISODE OF THE SHOW, NOT ME SIMPLY HATING ON HIM
I am years late to the discussion (just got to this episode during my watch of the show trying to get to the current uploads) but Moon’s behaviour in this is really shitty right.
I understand they got mad at Sun for spending a lot of money on something that Moon considers unnecessary, but their reaction is not at all justified. They not only threaten Sun (‘even’ if it’s just a flick to the forehead), but he actively says he will do worse if Sun is not truthful about where the money went. And this is not an empty threat, or at least, it doesn’t appear that way to Sun, because he quickly tells Moon the truth after that.
Also, just the fact that Moon frames the threatened extra ‘punishment’ as something Sun brings upon himself by not being truthful? Sun is not making you do this. It is not by Sun’s choice that you hurt him.
The line “don’t run, you know I can catch you”. And all it implies. Obviously their relationship used to be worse, but the fact that Moon brings this up and uses it to stop Sun from escaping? The fact that it’s repeated multiple times?
A few more concerning quotes : “you get one flick to the forehead” (the idea that Moon’s being ‘good’ by only hurting Sun once), “the sooner you let me do this the sooner it’s done” (framing the choice of getting hurt like it’s Sun’s), “I am literally just going to flick you on the forehead stop running like I’m going to smack you” (once again making it seem like Moon is doing a good thing by only hurting Sun once, AND bringing up that Moon has done worst in the past in the same sentence to reinforce the idea), “Sun. Come here. I will catch you. And if you run, I will actually plant my foot into your [censored].” (Once again a threat of something worse, framing it to be Sun’s choice, etc), “Let me flick you in the forehead. And this will be done. And we will go back to planning the Halloween party.” (Yet again making it seem like Sun’s choice. I am running out of new things to say. Moon framing this as just a slight issue that impedes them getting back to their daily life).
Also, Moon’s “I am trying to be a better person. But I have the instinctive urge to kick you and i am resisting that and replacing it with a flick to the forehead.” Moon, in two sentences, both attempting to make the idea of them physically hurting Sun seem like something good and also explaining that it’s actually him being a better person. That is not something you say. You do not tell someone ‘actually I’m being good because I’m hurting you less than I feel like I should’. That is not something you say.
Sun and Moon’s dialogue at the end. Sun literally negotiating whether or not he gets physically abused. I will just transcribe it below. It is important to note that Sun sounds very, very nervous through this exchange. Which is more than reasonable.
“One flick. I am asking this now for my own sake.”
“H-how about instead of a flick i go out and buy you another box of cereal.”
“Another box of cereal and I get to smack you on the hand.”
“Two boxes…?”
“Two boxes.”
Sun did not even intend to keep the thing he spent the money on for himself. He wished to share it with the rest of the house inhabitants and anyone else who might drop by. He also earns money as well, and while Moon spends time in the lab doing whatever they want to do, Sun both works in the daycare and takes care of everything day-to-day in the house, including the kids. Moon does barely, if any, of this.
It’s important to add that Solar has been watching this entire scene. He does not intervene, he does not tell Moon to stop, he does not defend Sun. I am not sure of my thoughts on this atm, but this isn’t great behaviour from him either.
