Guinevere had a knack for emotions. After one slightly unhinged message from Emma, she showed up at the other girl's door with hot tea and a warm hug. She smiled and nodded along reassuringly from her place on Emma's bed as the witch paced and ranted about her problems. "It sounds pretty frustrating to me." Guin agreed, taking a sip from her own steaming cup. "Maybe we should do something fun and you can take your mind off of it for a bit? I'm thinking ... the three broomsticks?"
Unfortunately, patching up Asher Avery had become a regular occurrence for Guinevere. She tried her best with the boy, but when he showed up battered and bloody all she could think about was helping him get better. The witch wanted it to be a safe place for him; if she started asking questions, then he'd stop coming around. "You poor thing!" Guin cooed, ushering him through the door and gesturing towards her favourite armchair. "Let me fetch the dittany, I have plenty now since we used it all up last time." Her eyebrows creased in a frown, but she tried to maintain a cheerful demeanour.
x negative traits: clumsy, indecisive, weak-willed
x face claim: saoirse ronan
x head-cannons:
Guinevere has a very shaky relationship with her family. Her older brother is the golden child and, despite their closeness, she always lived in his shadow. She wouldn’t have minded this if her parents did not expect so much from her. The Yaxley’s were one of the oldest pureblood families in the Wizarding world and with that came a reputation. One that Guinevere struggled to uphold. She had always been softer than the others, or as they saw it; weaker. Her parents even pulled her out of Cambridge Academy because they felt the school was not providing enough discipline for their weak-willed witch. Guin’s time at Banchory was not the best, to say the least, but she stayed strong. It made her realise how important her family were and how much she needed to prove them wrong. Being placed in Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin did not help with her inferiority complex, but it has made her push harder to be perfect.
Potions is one of the few areas that Guinevere excels at. It is her true calling outside of divination. However, her family saw no potential in pursuing a career in divination, so she adapted to the next best thing. Whilst she still practices for fun in her spare time, she agrees that potions was just as fulfilling and far more practical for a young witch.
She is bisexual, but extremely repressed. Exploring her sexuality was one of the reasons she ended up at Banchory and her parents made very sure that Guinevere knew it was not appropriate for her to be attracted to other witches. This does not help her heart from wanting them, though.
Currently, Guinevere is on the dark side. This is mostly to appease her family and to stay close to her brother. She has had pureblood ideology drilled into her since birth, but in meeting and mingling with Muggleborns she is starting to question everything she was taught. A decision needs to be made - and Guin has never been very good at making decisions.
Guinevere is a cat person through and through, though she has a place in her heart for all animals. Even if the big creatures scare her.
She’s a meddlesome person. With all of her friendships she wants to help solve all of their problems, and that often means she gets in the middle of things and makes them worse. It’s the thought that counts.
