My piece for the Gumi Collab! Although it’s been years since I’ve drawn vocaloid fanart, I still listen to these little singing robots every day. I’ve been trying to get back into vocaloid lately, and what better than to return to MikitoP, one of my favourite composers! Ballerina Girl describes an incredibly sensitive and private topic in such an artful and graceful way.

My part of this year’s Gumi collab! Happy birthday to Gumi and of course, thanks to the people arranging the collab.

This year I wanted to draw a less famous Gumi-interpretation and chose to go with アンドロ (Andro) by Otetsu (link to nnd video). I’ve been a fan of his music and riria009′s illustrations for a long time.

Foo! Here it is, a piece I worked really hard on. Gumi will always have a special place in my heart; she was released just as I got into Vocaloid, so I got to watch very closely as she went from “wow look at her hideous design” to “second only to Miku”! Man, 2009 was a long time ago, huh…?

Honestly, I’ve been meaning to draw a homage to samfree for a long time, but I never actually went through with it… When I saw that this song, the first of samfree’s I had ever listened to, hadn’t been claimed on the collab yet, I just had to…!

…I made myself a little bit sad now, so I’ll just leave you with this drawing.
