Warmind au
The Warlord stormcaller equivalent Specialist class. Instead of shaping light, they instead drop rift generators to empower/heal allies and deploy tiny sentry drones. Has slow but powerful arc generators to lance electricity between enemies from afar. There are unconfirmed guardian reports of some Specialists calling in huge arc cannons down from orbit to break the defenses of whole groups of Cabal Colossi. Usually lacks a kinetic primary but has an energy smg, fusion rifle, and a linear fusion.
Infamous for getting into hacking… slap fights… with the Fundament’s Krill Techeuns.
“Alright, mavericks. Ready to see what we’re fightin’ today?”
did i tell y’all i completely forgot to post this. this bastard is 2 weeks old i am a Fool and a Coward.
“If they wanna get inside those old labs so badly, why don’t they use something like this?”
“…Do you think it didn’t occur to whoever founded the Black Armory to reinforce their secure facilities at least enough to resist small-arms fire?”
“I don’t mean gettin’ through the doors. I mean gettin’ through the computers.”
“How’s that—dare I ask?”
“There’s some kinda puzzle, right? Encrypted, sneaky whatsit, yeah? Well, just blast it. Puzzle solved.”
“I’m fairly certain destroying the computers wouldn’t release the locking mechanisms they control.”
“Dunno, has anyone tried? I’ve had lots of success blowin’ up computers when stuff’s locked. Made my way through half the Cosmodrome like that, in the old days. And when ol’ Zavala cordoned it off? BAM! I blew my way back in the same way.”
“Hold on, you did what?”
“Well, I found one of those big air ducts in the wall, put a charge on the control panel for the hatch, and blew it up. Presto! Open hatch—and ten minutes later, I’m strollin’ through the Cosmodrome again, got the whole place to myself. Ha!”
“You—have you been through decontamination? When was this? Are you wearing the same gear now? What’s that red stuff on you there?”

so… in my 40 matches of gambit, ive banked quite a few motes, and heard every voice line the drifter says. it didn’t occur to me until now, but one of his lines when you bank a medium blocker is along the lines of, “taken knight outbound! i like your style.”
and one for a large blocker: “taken ogre to the othe side! you’re a terrible person.”
the drifter seems surprised when he says these lines, leading me to the conclusion that the blockers we send in gambit are decided by the guardian.
taking into account that the thing the drifter drags around is a pocket ascendant realm filled with taken, his motes of darkness likely respond to the guardians desire to win. blocking the enemy bank is just how the guardians managed to control the darkness.
the drifter himself summoned primevals to defeat cabal in the early days of gambit, but he had a mote in his hand. the mote responded to his call and brought primevals to protect him.
in the words of cayde, INNNNNNN-teresting.
Strike Day at the office. At least they don’t have to turn the furnace on.
Love em or hate em, Uldren is a great character.
And is, for all intensive purposes, justified in his actions.
You just need to see things from his perspective….
